Before they removed 25% damage from his Q at max level, he would actually kill you pretty fast (Q range kinda makes up for having his autos/W steroid kited). Faster than Mundo's cleavers do.
As for Quinn she simply isn't a teamfighting champion. I'm fine with it: different strengths and weaknesses, all that. I actually think we don't have enough champions who don't bring much to a teamfight in exchange for other things (despite how much I get annoyed at Elise's Q numbers, she's one of them). See, if Ziggs for example was bad in teamfights instead of being a nuking/kiting/dps-ing machine he'd have tradeoffs for the poke/anti-splitpushing (really 200% damage on minions for his ult wtf Riot). Support Karma/Karma in general doesn't bring much to straight-up fights.
I think LoL was better on this whole situation awhile ago, when teamfighting champions were stuff like Karthus, Kennen, Malphite, Morgana, Galio, etc. who relied on AoE and long cooldowns, and weren't that good outside of these situations (Morgana had decent poke, Kennen decent dueling, etc. but not stellar). You then had stuff like Shen, who wasn't incredible in fights but an excellent splitpusher do to his resilience and his ult. Nocturne is extremely dependant on itemisation (basically how strong burst AD itemisation is compared to standard marksmen itemisation, since his Shroud/hexdrinker give anti-magic tools) so he usually doesn't bring anything special to a teamfight (unless it's in the jungle) but his ult was very good for picks, and punishing splitting.
Now we have Rengar but contrary to Nocturne he can more easily survive in a fight, he brings more without his ult up, (he's manaless but I don't think that plays a big role here) he has more reliable cc and stronger/lower cd burst. A gap closer. He works better as BDS (Ball Delivery System) because his jump out of ult is basically instant. etc. AP Nidalee would have been more interesting if Riot didn't shit on strong initiation (basically making a fuckton of tanky/good at disengaging champions (Leona is more reliable at initiating than Braum, but how strong his counterinitiation/disengage is while hers is weak at best)), Kassadin retaining his silence in exchange for weaker burst could have been pushed toward his "antimage" niche instead of "blink assassin" (his passive, a silence, a blink to dodge skillshots... c'mon!).
Nerf strong laning/dueling champions so they don't bring as much to a teamfight or fall off laterr (heyo Lucian, when is that Culling getting stomped so it's actually a "not deal 0 damage" spell and not "remove 50% of the tank's health fom safety"?), give them weaknesses (what is Ziggs' weakness? If you tell me "skillshots", I'll point you at Brand whose are actual weaknesses), so there are fewer generalist champs, and more champs that are good at several things (not necessarily just one). Force people to make picks that actually build a coherent plan/teamcomp, not just 1-2 champs that are actually committed to it, and the rest are generalist enough that you don't give a damn.
Edit: also of note that Riot kept nerfing these niches (mostly by way of ult cooldown nerfs, see Vi, Nocturne, etc.) because they want to encourage fighting because that's what's better for the spectators I guess, but when all you can do is fight then it just leads to more lopsided games anyway because it's harder to come back once you're behind in the one thing you can do (oh wait, where did this shitty comeback mechanics come from already?).

The generalist comment has been brought plenty of times, and it's pretty true. Champs that should be niche actually aren't and are good enough to pick into any comp completely shafts champs that are niche.

Welp, promo unsuccessful. It's 'k, I'm used to having the final game be decided by a ragequit/suicide/dc on my side by now.
The deathrecap in that last game though... got 2200 HP, and 200+ armour (FH), thinking whether I should buy something against Fiddlesticks, or against their Vayne. Death recap tells me I lost 2300 HP, shows me < 100 damage from Lulu, ~400 by Renekton (half ignite, half his ult), and a Pantheon spear.
"Hey dude, you just lost 2300 HP, but I'll show you the 500 less relevant and just add at the bottom that you took 1800 more than that without telling you how." Pls. T_T 3 teamfights in a row, I'm living in doubt man, help me know what kills me. D:
Edit: damn it puts me at 76 LP though. I was at 97 before I entered the promo series (so technically well above 100), I lose 1-2, and I have to win 2 in a row just to get into a series again? Riot pls. x_x

Holy shit Alaric, fucking death recaps. Every game I duo with someone I complain at least once about stupid death recaps that don't tell anything.
What's that, you're 4000 health Garen with 300 armor? Well Graves did about 800 damage to you, and the cannon minion hit you a few times, I guess you died.
They need to fully rework that shit. I want a scroll bar, I want to see every source of all the damage I took in the last 30 seconds.
I made it back to Plat1, just one more promo to go. I've devised a freelo strategy: if Ryze isn't banned (who are these clowns?), pick. Else pick Irelia. Win every game.
Although looking at my history, I lose every game I have to play a different role.

Are people actually playing decent Sions in higher ranks? I don't think I've seen one win a game (of if he has, he's been carried super hard).
Also started playing Kha6 lately. Pretty fun champ, tricksy and full of violence.

I've seen some Sions that weren't awful. Seems to mostly be full tank builds.

Qtpie was fun. All ArPen build Sion and going ham all the die, basically "I'll ult to hit someone then I'll just try to hit a fully-channeled Q and after that I don't care, I'll hit someone till we win the fight or I die, at which point they're all dead". Always HAM all the time. And he was playing him mid, if you build a decent amount of AD his waveclear is actually ridiculous.

Yeah, I don't think Quinn's problem is Quinn, it is Lucian. Lol.
No real reason to pick her in lieu of Lucian, who I think needs big lane nerfs personally.
If the other team picks like twitch, and you pick Quinn, you should smash them really hard. But why pick Quinn when Lucian does the same thing and is a more general champion with a better late game.

Yeah, when your passive basically reads "Free Sheen." Shit gets pretty dumb.

http://leaguelsi.com/ I guess you guys want this to check deathrecaps.

Dunno, it looks like it pulls from the standard death recap, it only changes the presentation. Doesn't help when the death recap only shows 20% of the damage taken (despite going from 100 to 0 under 7 seconds).

I'd be curious to see what the technical limitations of a fully-featured combat log would be for the game. Even for spectator mode, that would be very useful, and the tech would translate directly into death recap improvements.
EDIT: It would also drastically simplify a lot of mechanics-related testing such as the order different effects apply in, which has otherwise been really painful to test for years.

Other than LoL's inbuilt death recap, the death recaps provided by LSI contain all sources of damage and debuff and split it up by damage types so you know what to itemize.

I think sion's top lane is actually pretty good, but he is seriously an awful jungle, and riot should be ashamed of promoting him as one. He can bully kids pretty dumb hard with his W, actually. Harder than before it feels like.
His kit is really weird though, his ult is impossible to land, stopping to use E sucks, and the windup on his skills is brutal.
Honestly, the hit box on his ult is terrible. I've seen Sion's dash run through a fairly tight nit trio of opponents, with his model physically touching all three opponents. Lool.
I will say that the engage is friggen sweet, though.
It's weird, he's a brand new champion, but he feels clunky and broken to play. It's kind of like picking shaco for the first time.

idk I feel like if they buff her range to 550 she's gonna be op as shit.
Quinn is garbage...I have yet to see one solid Quinn is ANY of my 300+ games

She's a decent lane bully and her mobility can allow her to snowball. You have to play her splitpush/assassin style and just avoid teamfights (or just come there for the cleanup). She just plays differently than most champions, that doesn't mean she's bad. She's just less fit to a standard teamfighting strategy. She's kinda like fiora in that most people have no clue what she does so she can snowball decently easily in solo queue. You will however never see any of these 2 in competitive. She might need a slight buff but nothing more.
Just remember SHE IS NOT A FUCKING ADC, don't pick her botlane ....
|
Quinn isn't even bad bottom lane... she shoves easily, trades really well.
She is actually really good against Caitlyn compared to most ads, and she smashes a couple others.
I'll say it again, her problem isn't her, it's that Lucian exists.
The reason she isn't amazing is more a stylistic and current itemization thing.
|
Lucian also crowds out Ez as the safe mobile adc. I can live with lane bullies, but Lucian just has it all. Good laner, mobile, best burst of any adc prob and good duelist cause of that. He is so smooth and fun to play, but somehow they need to keep him in check.
