Thresh, Braum, and to a lesser extent Leona are all supposed to be champions that full specific niches, however they are strong enough to be generalist picks. That is the actual issue. It's basically as if people were spamming Ziggs, Anivia, Lux, and other super wave clear champions that made dives hard, then called Malphite op because he was diving them more successfully than any other champion could.
This same issue cropped up with veil many patches ago when ap assassins were in the vogue. People blamed veil instead of the real problem.

by that logic you could argue that the problem with support is that the other niches are so underpowered that thresh and braum seem like generalists.

Uh, you're the one being too generalistic on that one cLutz. It's like how Karthus fills a niche, or Nidalee fills a niche, but we were still seeing them everywhere at some point. When the niche in question is popular, or even what defines the meta (as is the current "stall/clear" passive one), then its best champions become "standard", that's a normal thing. Leona isn't even being seen anymore because botlane moved away from the aggressive lane it was, and now the overall "stall, turtle, make picks if you can and otherwise counterinitiate rather than dive" is much better for champions with abilities such as both Thresh's and Braum's E and R. Nami to a lesser extent, because she isn't as tanky and her pick potential is weaker than Thresh's while her protection weaker than Braum's.
Lantern will always make Thresh relevant, sure, but still would you rather have him or Karma to escape from ganks, protect your guy who waveclears from 1500 range away, and focus on picks over teamfights, at the moment?

Except unlike my hypo, the support reality is that they are actually different niches. It is not like Lee and Elise who are basically the same niche, where you can argue they aren't explicitly op, just op do to this jungle meta. Thresh and Braum share little in common other than that they are less strong against Morgana than everyone else. But the majority of those everyone else beat Morgana, or do better against her than the hyper popular champions.

Morg is popular because her counters have been nerfed to shit. That's basically it.
We've seen support Morg in the past and we've also seen support Morg fall out of favor without any nerfs. The problem is that all the champs that counter Morg have been nerfed and are weak as shit, while all the champions that Morg counters are really goddam strong right now.

There better be a new consumable item in the shop called pie, seeing as this will be patch 4.13.
Either that, or Neo needs to call it the PIE patch.

Eh, pi = 3.14 tho?

Either that, or Neo needs to call it the PIE patch. I think you need to go check the value of pi.

In my opinion Morgana isn't even that strong, she's just annoying to play against if you main support because she negates what you do.

I know pi = 3.14159, but in l33tspeak 413 would equate to pie.

Its more that many supports don't want to play a high damage/poke champion (or don't know about j4) which is what is strongest against Morgana because they don't see them played in LCS. Zyra, and Lux do really well for instance but they're not played in competitive games because their pick potential isn't as strong.

jarven should never be played support, ever... Morgana's 'best' counter is probably annie. In order for a champion to become support it has to meet a ton of criteria or hit very specific criteria that other champions can't offer without compromising themselves.

Scrimming is not the only way to practice. It's also been shown in the past that players who never play solo queue and only scrim tend to fall behind fast.
100% agree. Although junglers should spend the majority of their time watchind vods/theory-crafting/playing single-player(if they need to), rather than doing soloq.
