It isn't that they don't scrim, it's just that the teams (by in large) don't see any benefit from scrimming for an extra day when they've basically secured their playoff spot and are just fighting for positioning, where at this level the only real benefit will be in pick/ban phase in the playoffs that they will be scrimming 8-12 hours a day for in preparation of anyway.
Monday's always been the teams "free day" for the NA LCS teams, and I think the EU teams free day is Sunday.
They will get more out of their scrims and theorycrafting by looking at tape of their opponents for this last week than by spending an extra day doing scrim games against teams that they may very well be playing against this weekend.
Also keep in mind that some of these teams might have sponsorship obligations to try and have them get X amount of name-pushing out there, and the players streaming solo Q games is basically the easiest way of fulfilling that obligation.

Idk man, if I were CLG or dig right now there's no way I would let my team have a free day after their past 2 weeks, but that's just me. More practice time is never a bad thing.

CLG's already gone on record saying they know that something's not working right, we don't know what, but we are still trying to identify it and fix it. Spending an extra day to fix something that you can't even identify as a problem in the first place isn't going to help you fix it.
Dig's problem is probably just a lack of adaptation to the meta and Crumbz being one of the weakest junglers in NA LCS at the moment.

Blind practice is worse than no practice because you either end up demoralized or reaffirming bad habits. More practice can easily become a bad thing. You can't just take a bunch of people from one culture and put them into Korean boot camp and expect results (see: Coach Park and EG-TL SC2). Korean training works in Korea because that's what they've been doing forever and expect to do.

Personally I think it reflects more poorly on the coaches/analysts.
Why are the only options on the table "blind practice" or "no practice"? Surely you have coaches and analysts whose job it is to make sure that you are never "blind practicing".
Sure, Super Week doesn't "matter", but if it doesn't matter, isn't it the best chance to start practicing for playoffs? Try some new things? NFL teams don't give their players the week off before Week 17; they might start some subs, but the starters are working with the staff on preparing for the playoffs.

Plus, standings are virtually locked unless there are some serious upsets.

you guys forget that they dont have to be korean tier to make money, this is their job
a whole day of streaming is a lot of money compared to nothing in a day of practice.
Thats what it boils down to.

Of course, I could easily just pass it off as being a crunched week and lack of ability to practice evenly leads to refreshing mechanics(which is largely done in soloq) being very important.

Yeah man it's 9gag, kinda explains how dumb you're being right now. Let's do some basic math, this may blow your mind though, so proceed with caution: + Show Spoiler + I'm just upset that western teams don't take this very seriously, that's all. It's this kind of mentality that is holding western esports back. The attitude of "well we cant prepare for 4 teams anyway, might as well just not scrim an extra day and hope for the best" NA LCS Week 10(7/27) to Week 11(8/1): 4 Days for 4 games against 4 Teams 1 Day/Team
Champions Summer, following the Arrows. Group Draw(6/12) => Match 1(6/20) 7 Days for a 2 game set vs Jin Air Stealths
Match 1 => Match 2(7/4) 13 Days for a 2 game set vs CJ Blaze 14 Days/Team
Match 2 => Match 3(7/9) 4 Days foe a 2 game set vs MKZ
Match 3 => Quarter Finals(7/16) 6 Days for a 5 game set vs Najin White Shield
Quarter Finals => Semi Finals(7/30) 13 Days for a 5 game set vs SKT T1 S
Nowhere are the Koreans given such little time to prepare for a variety of opponents. Saying "lel they aren't practicing like the Koreans, they sucks! kek XD" is absolutely retarded considering the Koreans don't even practice on the schedule you're criticizing the West for being on.

Gahlo phrased it before and better than me, but with 4 teams to prepare for in 3 days you're not going to get much done besides stress out your players. I'm sure they will still scrim to work on what they already can do but getting that rest day to dick around, make stream money, and not think about the competitive game is nice.
What would be even nicer is to go outside and not do anything video game related but maybe that's hard to break out of, especially because streaming pays the bills and going outside doesn't.

While I don't know about other cities, I know for a fact that my local NFL team has always had a day off after gameday. Especially if they have a Thursday game the next week.

why do you have to prepare for 4 teams....

Are they playing new teams every week or are they playing the same teams they've been playing for 11 straight weeks?

More than likely most teams just try to relax and just go back to basics for super week unless they want to use some cheesy strat in playoffs but unless you have a real chance to move up to 1/2(or up to top 6) seems kind of a waste with playoffs so close.

I'm not talking about specific strategies for each team though. I'm talking about in general, scrimming will help waaaaaaaay more than dicking around in solo queue and playing CS:GO will.
Like vayneauthority said, it just comes down to them getting money, not actually caring about being good.

Man the lengths some people go to to avoid saying "qtpie is not good, and qtpie + kiwi is just abhorrent".
Oh, and I maintain that they should be working out on free days, and doing funny shit. For instance, they could make a video called "scarra and QTPIE race", then shave the head of the loser.
