You don't become able to "facetank" towers, you increase the number of hits it takes for the damage to become significant and thus the duration your team is granted to win the teamfight before the tower forces a retreat. Even a 300 armour Renekton or Mundo will start hurting hard after 4-5 tower shots, and if he can't drop aggro quickly he'll be out of the fight by himself and the team will have to disengage or finish off the tower if it's low enough. | ||

Rather it be earlygame damage increase so as to reduce the power of the fog of war (when it cant be controlled). Still too many pro games being decided by guessing and lucky/unlucky ward placement. | ||
