Some of our articles make it to the front page as well as other longer format pieces, but not at any regular consistency. | ||

If you do a clear that looks something like Blue > Wolves > Wraiths > Red > Golems you finish at 3:22 in game time. If you take the same route, Udyr clocks in at 3:29. With a good leash, both junglers can finish whole route at like 3 min. Also ff note, this is about the same time (about 5-15 seconds longer) it takes some rather common junglers (Lee Sin, Vi, Panth, Elise, Jarvan etc) to clear Blue > Wraiths > Red. For those uber farm junglers, new Skarner might be worth it to play. Not willing to comment on how good he is, havn't played him that much aside from a couple normal game stomps. But damn he kills jungle fast. | ||

I am always skeptical of AS steroids on champs that arent Ranged ADCs or Splitpushers. But does it help him outside of clears? | ||

I dont think its great, but for duels vs melee champions and peeling its pretty good. Imo thats what you should be doing anyway, not like Skarner has good initiate. More than anything Impale is sexy gank and sexy peel, imo. Good at catching kids offguard, but top/mid laner probably has better straight up 5v5 initiate. | ||

Eh, flashgrab is pretty great but it's more of a 'catch someone out of position and have your team instakill them' Beyond that yes, Skarner is a far better peeler than a diver. | ||

I was a little surprised that the rework went in the direction it did. When skarner first came out he was so strong because his abilities were so cheap he had essentially infinite mana and this made his clear super fast and his clear path highly variable. This also allowed him to abuse his passive to keep his ult up a lot more than most. They fixed this by jacking up the costs on all his abilities until he couldn't even clear once all the way through without going oom and he fell off the map. I figured that with the new jungle camps being generally harder for him to clear even with ability spam, all they had to do was reduce his mana costs to old values and call it a day but they really changed how he feels as a character. With all the really powerful resourceless champions they keep pumping out it just seems odd. | ||

His E is way better than it was before imo. It was worthless in jungle, W gave more jungle sustain and used less mana and you wanted it for ganks anyway. Lategame the pathetic heal was useless anyway. I do think the slow needs to be a little bit stronger though, lasts such a small time. Probably the worst skillshot CC in the game. Compare it to Mundo Cleaver for example. Less slow %, actualy cost, three times the CD. | ||

Depends on how well you manage your mana. I'ma Spartans player, and Skarner will never have as many mana issues as Pantheon. I'd equate it to Udyr, really. Very manageable. | ||

However, that was kind of a "strength" because Q and W were both basically 1.5 skills when he was "balanced" and "OP". | ||
