It's like playing release Zach the jungle. Sure he does a lot of great things, but if you put him top he was literally unable to lose.
All of the things panth does from the jungle he does from lane better. pretty sure this argument was bad then too, what matters is how pantheon mid compares to gragas/lb/ziggs and how pantheon jungle compares to elise/lee sin/vi; not how pantheon mid/jungle compare to each other. besides, a champion with a strong early game and map presence that doesn't seem to rely on farm or scale particularly well with it seems much more suited to jungle than mid in the pro meta. He does need items though. You need some sort of damage item, you need one of lw or bc, and you very much need one defensive item in the late game. Panth bears Gragas and lb, Ziggs is a rough matchup though. Pantheon wants to be tanky but wants to do damage, thats why playing him as a bursty glass cannon is best imo. but he cant compete with top laners at all cuz he'll never hurt them :/ on Galio, I think he'll be good again when/if push R and win comps come back All galio needs is 1 or 2 seconds cd taken off his q at all ranks, and like 2-3 seconds cooldown taken off his e, and hed be top tier. He just needs to do more sustained damage and hes a god mid. He is almost unkillable vs some teamcomps even as it is. If someone suddenly has two top tier skills, they'll become a top tier hero. You don't say. Just to be clear you're suggesting, with 40% CDR, a 2.5s 40% AOE slow on a 3s CD that does a bunch of damage. No shit he'll be top tier you might as well say if Galio's ult covered the whole map he'd be top tier -_-
Dis is mean CHeep Cheep.
I think Galio ult is kinda Rubbish, that is the untold tale. It gets broken like 100% of the time. And if it didn't then he would be a yoloQ terror, whence, he cannot be fixed or else Riot will have a terrifying amount of Bronzodia outcry.

The best solution obviously is to give him % health damage on Q.

Apologies.
On a more serious note, his afk farming playstyle needs to be remedied. I think they need to split his Q into an instant damage component and a proc-the-mark component.

Thanks Cheep your words mean a lot to me.
If you think Galio's press QE then afk playstyle is fun then go ahead.

I'd talk about how quality of discussions has dropped steadily for quite some time in here but I'm not exactly helping the problem...
Galio would probably be better used defensively with a comp forcing the enemy to dive you, than offensively where he needs flash and still won't ever catch a Jinx or something.

For sure. I was just listing random ideas that could separate Kog's damage out more lategame because Jinx has a strong midgame Kit with her Zap, ult, and free AS (or long range for sieges). One of Kog's big problems is actually that he cant use his W for sieging or Dragon/Baron because then it will be down for a potential engagement. Maybe Kog's W needs to reset CD on kill/assist. His passive is god awful these days, because of the addition of so many high-mobility champions that can easily evade the damage. I do agree that a CD-reset could fix some of his issues. o god i was joking WE'VE REACHED THE SINGULARITY. But seriously, never remove Kog's passive. Most hilarious passive game. Just give it Homeguard buff. ezpz Haha. Kog's passive obviously needs %HP True Damage. And a scaling execute. Everyone dies. A GA passive would be great too. Actually, if you combined all of these such that his passive refreshed his life on champion kill (scaling execute obvs), that'd be pretty genuinely cool. Probably impossible to balance, but pretty cool. Eve actually had this at some point on her ult, she got 400 HP back from kills and assist, and some sort of reset of its active (a steroid).

There is nothing inherently wrong about any playstyle, and suggesting a complete revamp of how a champion plays is a whole different issue than changes to make the champion stronger/more viable, and is thus utterly useless in a "discussion" such as this one, if it even qualifies.

The difference is that Orianna is somewhat squishy while Galio is not. Ori/Syndra/etc. Can do the afk farm too, but they are still vulnerable to all in. Galio is actually pretty tanky, especially against AP champions.

The entire top meta is an afk farm playstyle...

For an Anti-Dive team though, aren't there better options?
I actually think Neo basically summed up everything Galio in his post; except missing the part where Galio is an ult reliant champion who's ult is arguably not that great considering the modern champion pool.

I do condemn the playstyle. But Galio is worse on this.
Look, say you are playing Orianna vs Syndra, which IMO Syndra has the upper hand. Both have pretty high burst and are kind of squishy, so if you (say) make a wrong move and get stunned by Syndra you are screwed.
Now you are Galio. You can clear wave more or less the same as Ori, but you probably have more MR and Syndra can't really do much to you, so you just farm.... weeee how fun!

Also don't just take my words for it. Look what Riot did to Morgana and Janna on their W and Q. I feel this is the direction Riot is moving towards, and one I agree on.
