It's ok because he's not very good late. Personally, I think it's good for the game if you have champions/strats that peak at different times of the game. If every champion peaks or have the same power level throughout the game it gets boring plus it lowers variety of viable champions.

The problem I have observed with this is that riot really doesn't believe it. Like, imagine a Renekton that does "his job" something like winning lane, taking tower, and roaming for a dragon or a kill. That is the real problem, IMO, they don't really get punished until super late.

If Rene can't out right win lane vs jax then it's pointless to play him. Sunfire cap/SV already hurt him anything more then a small nerf to his first 2/3 points in q and he will be benched like jayce

The only thing hurting Jayce is the not stacking tear on form change nerf, if that was reverted you'd see him again pretty sure

I don't think there can be a middle ground with Jayce, or any champion with a transform at level 1. They'll either be stupid good or irrelevant. If tear stacked on transform he would go back to being stupid good and everyone would bitch and whine about him one shotting kids then he would get nerfed again and would practically be useless.

Gate CD hurt more than I expected, the far later muramana timing I could deal with but the gate made everything more frustrating, feels like outside of siege you get one E + Q before it's all over.

It was def the tear nerfs that killed him dude.

Lategame you dont even need to Q/E all that much, muramana active + w = someone is going to die.

Q/E poke is nice but the 130% damage auto attacks with muramana ona like 3 sec cd is what made him ridiculous

Actually yeah I thought more about release E max Jayce and that was pretty stupid to fight.

Jayce is tricky to fix because he is just packed to the brim with little things. Mana back on auto attack (why? his mana costs are tiny), 2 second slow on his jump, damage multiplier on his W auto attacks (wasn't a 6s CD max attack speed steroid enough?), % damage + a ministun on his knockback, don't forget Armor/MR shred when he transforms and bonus damage on next hit. He's all over the place.

I think ideally if you were going to change Jayce you'd make his Hammer form much more relevant, presently you spend like 90/10% of your time in cannon/hammer respectively.

Looks pretty good other than Bonetooth Trinket, I don't see how that makes it more interesting. All it does is limit Rengar to vision trinket? Kind of lame.

Rengar still gets rewarded for spamming skills in a way that no other champion does, in addition to being manaless. Still not a fan of his design.

Makes it much less of a decent item now that it doesnt give bonus Ad either. Really depends on if it has the same ward thing as in not 120sec with 120sec cd @ lvl 9 or if its a legit 180sec ward.

They probably meant remove ranged manaless targeted harass. TBH I never found that very annoying since either he maxes it and is shit at fighting or he doesn't and it doesn't hurt. Shen is worse since it's his main skill but it's fine there too really.

It's like there's this blindspot that refuses to recognize that manaless (or essentially in a few cases), and definitely resourceless champions are all frequent problem cases. Like maybe there's a trend here...
