Can we stop judging people by their rank? If the support and ADC duo were bronze and sliver, then it probably has something to do with the reset that happened like 5 days ago. It's silly to call people out for it.

I think people who hate on duo bots are really just jealous that they don't have anybody to brave the world of ranked with.

my theory is that you will actually gain LP long term by dodging every single time you have a duo queue on your team.

i think his point was more about the MMR inflation (and the lane mismatches that follow) that comes with duo queuing.

Pretty sure the hate against duos is mostly a selection bias. Duo queuers that aren't idiots know that everybody hates duos, so you don't mention it in select. People that announce "we are duo queue" aren't very smart, it's like complaining about your teammate in all chat.
tl;dr you probably get carried by duos all the time, they just don't announce it because they're smart

It's true though, duo botline is fucking cancer. Guys named "hi i adc" and "hi i support" on my team, pick Jinx/Annie into Trist/Leona. I thought about saying "care at level 2" but figured, nah they MUST know how common Trist/Leona all in at 2.
Trist gets FB at level 2. Then their level 4 jungle ww gets double kill.
I mean theoretically duo bot is great. The problem is when they duo, get the inflated MMR, and it's clear they haven't played with each other much at all. I have bad experience in general with duo queues on my team, but bot seems so much more hit or miss since it's much more obvious when they feed or get fed.

Youre right, almost 100% of the people who announce they arer duos are awful. Yet the silent ones are pretty good who dont have to always "duo bot"

I wish they'd change the way duo queue MMR inflation works. Right now there are only two situations: either your MMR is very close and you'll both be bottom two picks every game, or there is a sizeable gap and one of you is first pick and the other is last pick.
It would be really nice for there to be some middle ground.

The thing about duo bot lane is the unusually high expection others hold for them. That is all. Once that expection was not fulfilled people will get very critical of them.

Not necessarily playing against higher mmr opponents can balance that out easily if not tip the scale in favour of two randoms. Especially when it's gold/silver/bronze range, the skill difference between random gold botlane vs a bronze/silver duo would be pretty big even though the duo has the "communication" advantage.

That doesn't always hold true, some people just Duo because they dont like playing alone, so they just go bot even if one or both of them dont AD/Support, so even if they have communication, they might not play together enough to actually know how each other plays.
Personal example is the guy who used to support me, he was passive, like I'm not going to be near creeps unless I'm going for a hook/stun passive. I lost lane countless times because he only played Taric and only moved up when he was going to stun people, so I couldn't do anything to follow up, even if I had a CS/kill/XP lead. I usually just expect the same from my duo lane and try to go top if they do that if I'm feeling generous, if not, I just take ADC and try to win the game playing my best role.

See that is exactly the problem. You think communication >>>> everything else.
In bronze 5 maybe that is true. But I feel most plat+ ADC players have very good expectation of what his soloQ support is trying to do and will quickly react to the situation.
