for example i was gold 3 but placemented into plat 5 which shows i was just being kept down in elo hell now im at an elo that i actually deserve, and it's kind of like the opposite scenario for you guys, ya know what im saying?
then why are almost all of the players i've played against an entire league above me after placing?
why did it place me in a league where i get like 33 pts a win??

50 Second Explosive Cask, albeit pretty heftily reduced damage. I guess they want it to be more about the utility than the AoE nuke that it is now. I actually agree.

Definitely possible.

Still in gold after my promos. :D
Was gold 2 in promotion series, now gold 5. I'll take it considering how badly I played the first three games.

They want to make jungle gragas a thing. that being said, increased Q dmg, making gragas a even better poke champ, but needs more supplemental team damage now.

Yasuo in general is just lame to play against. Flow is quite stupid against poke champs, and his dash is dumb against sustained dps champs like Karthus and Cassio; burst is also kind of crappy because flow+windwall is likely to negate most of it. So you need lots of hard cc or lots of tanky-sustained dps. Or just be better in general.

... they reverted a previous PBE change. There is no q damage increase.

We wanted to give some extra clarification on placement matches for the start of the 2014 season. There’s been some discussion from players who seeded lower than they expected, so I thought I’d talk about that a bit. First – there was a ‘soft reset’ in ranked but it was not as strong as in previous seasons. What that means in practical terms is that the system does take account your performance in previous seasons but the playing field has been leveled slightly. Your initial seeding is based on your performance in the previous season coupled with performance in your promotional games. Second – most players will find they are placed close to where they were in the previous season, but there are some who’ll be placed lower or higher than in the previous season based on their game history. For example a player who was division V and lost a lot of games at 0 LP last season would see those losses reflected in their placement in the current season. If a player is placed into a league below their skill level due to a string of losses in their placements, they’ll see accelerated gains / division skipping as they continue to win games that will quickly push them to their correct league position Third (and finally) – I’ll be adding a placement match section to the 2014 season ranked FAQ to clarify questions here where possible (This FAQ should be up soon).
Stop fucking crying thanks.

Why couldn't Riot just make a correct match making system instead of making a failed one and then making people play games to fix a problem Riot knew about?

So basically we are back to S2 Gragas, except less damage on R.

It's a called a soft reset for a reason. You're supposed to start this season lower than where you peaked in Season 3. Get your head into the game and work on getting better and carrying the fuck out of your matches. If you're Plat and got placed Silver, enjoy the easy games instead of getting mad. It should take you less than a month to get back to where you once were. If you're having problems in Silver this season, then guess what?

I couldn't agree more. I won about the first half of my series and then lost 4 games in a row. The fifth game I was gragas vs ori mid and it felt a little bit too easy, then I realized I was up in CS and won all trades even after getting ganked 2 times before 6. Then I realized I was playing against silver and just started to carry the fuck out of the game. Was so much fun to have such a ridiculously easy game for a change. So I won 6/10 and shifted from plat to gold but that's ok, Gonna enjoy those games for a while.
