I take it GP10 runes are completely not takeable atm.

Sometimes they will "buff" a character from irrelevancy into irrelevancy. Like the Janna changes. Or like the Eve Hate Spike change. Nerf or Buff? IMO its a nerf, but a straight tallying might call it an "adjustment". | ||

The thing is a lot of the times things that get buffed are things people don't currently play, so there isn't much of a public discussion about it. The Anivia buffs this patch were huge but nobody plays her anymore so it gets nothing more than a few passing comments. Nerfs however typically come to champions that everybody plays and everybody sees in their games, so there's a lot more discussion. That's pretty normal and understandable. Riot doesn't buff stuff :p But seriously, the reason people think this is because the nerfs are typically more impactful to the meta than the buffs. That is because usually what gives you a new FOTM pick is a "remake" like Olaf or Eve, a total overhaul like S2 to S3, or S3 to S4, or old FOTM champs being nerfed which either lowers the overall champion strength enough to let the new pick be strong, or removes a champion or style that is a counter to that champion. I dont even know what I am rambling about anymore. I just think midlane is the healthiest its been since Zed and Khazix were released. Edit: Although Yasuo seems to be a hairball in this machine. He makes a lot of picks much less viable. | ||

It's expected they'll nerf the likes of Gragas because he is in virtually every pro game at the moment. The nature of their buffs are fairly small too (generally speaking). Granted small buffs add up over time (e.g. Janna slowly getting buffed may see her picked). | ||

picked him because my team insisted and oh look, land three hooks and ult -> win game didnt hurt that i actually upgrade to oracles trinket vs an akali though i shudder to imagine how this would go if i wasn't terrible with him | ||
