The problem with relic is the level 1-2, where leona sorta gets shoved on and enemies get level 2 earlier. If you can hit level 3 without getting dumped on by an all in at level 2, then relic shield is better. But Dshield mitigates a lot of the level 1-2 shenanigans that happens. | ||

You could just buy 3 pots and it would be literally the same except you would get more gold and heal your ad a bit.Most people know you have to 1v2 pretty much really early when you playing with leona.It is standart to stay in xp range and miss a few cs not the end of world. | ||

Relic's active is actually counter-intuitive now that I think about it. It heals the ADC, but is only really usable for melles. If you are a melle support you are usually tanking the harass much more often than the ADC, thus the heal is the opposite of what you really wanted. On the other hand, Janna would love to be able to heal her ADC for getting some cs. Also, I said this a long time ago, but the problem with all support items now is just like the original jungle items: They were either so good laners got them (old Targon) or not (so now everyone gets Dshield into Sightstone and then finally gets stone because the active is important). Its taken them more than a season to figure out how to keep jungle items in the jungle, without making junglers totally crippled in teamfights. I assume it will take just as long for these. | ||

W actually makes Doran Shield comparatively better. 8 dmg out of 50 is much less than 8 dmg out of 30. 21 Def makes Doran's Shield even better. You also generally want Ancient Coin as your gp10 anyway. | ||
