Her burst is poor until she gets triforce(or at least sheen+phage), but she can't lane against most of the bruisers without blade, can't really teamfight without a defensive item. Kinda like a less extreme version of poppy. Basically she's item dependant, but she gets dunked by most common laners, can't farm jungle to catch up, and is far too slow of a champion in the current meta(timing-wise). Most champs can come online after 3-4k gold(boots+big item). Irelia needs that much gold just to lane 1v1, double that to teamfight, and nearly triple to really start entering her carry phase(assuming not fed). Jax can do the same thing with just triforce or blade, and he comes online MUCH faster, and brings a much, much scarier lategame threat. Other contributing factors - phage slow change, no more lane domination via WQ creep, first auto slow>4-5 more W enhanced autos, almost every champ can disengage with ease now because they can either slow, stun, or just run away faster. - 2v1 meta. Irelia can't clear waves at all, and has almost no defense against a tower dive. She also can't farm jungle very well. - Various nerfs which should honestly just be reverted at this point. | ||

The E changes made him less safe, because he can no longer just run around by keep spamming his E. Previously he was too obnoxiously slippery. | ||

Also watching this goodguygarry's stream, his character window is showing 100% magic pen on his fizz, wut. Clearly a glitch, but I wonder if he really does have 100% pen or just a character window thing. | ||

the only reason to get talisman is shurelyas, you gain way more gold with targons buying targons late isnt that good an idea because if you're getting it at 20-25 minutes thats when most of your farming gets done for most people who buy it | ||
