Now before people jump at my throat I'm not saying they're identical, but for all intents and purposes Maokai (with 150 less range) and Jarvan do the same thing to midlaners whose lives they decide to make hell out of, in terms of ganking. Having to patiently explain people why Ezreal/Sona gets shat on by lanes who push harder than them and why ending up camping under the enemy Cait's/Jinx's/etc. tower with a 7-0 combined score as all to do with players being shit over the match-up is way more taxing than it should. Especially when a third party chimes in to say the lane is shit and general and the first person ignores the whole situational stuff you expose to focus on the absolute and wrong statements. >_>

Vi also has better base stats/numbers on skills in terms of damage and tankiness, and scales much better than either Maokai or Jarvan.

The difference is the possibility of flashing it (but J4 has a way shorter cooldown to do it again, and it doesn't end up under your tower if you flash there) and using knock-backs/ups (since even if you cc him he'll complete the dash and cc you in turn otherwise). Not true at all wtf.Vi has unremovable/undodgeable cc AND she creates a path when she ults for skillshots as well.

I mean, people complain because "you can't escape Vi ganks", you tell them "others have that too" (heck, Malphite did that back when he had a decent clear time) and now they say "but she does damage too!" If Vi uses her Q to get in range she loses a big part of her burst, so there's that, she outranges J4 is she forgoes damage. Maokai has the double cc combo too (W -> walk behind them -> Q). She does more damage than them but it's not like theirs is pathetic either (well Maokai's is past level 6 or so compared to her, but he can still camp mid pre-6). I think you're being too absolute/excessive about it (and yes, I know it's somewhat ironic coming from me). She's strong, but it's not like she's unique. The fact that she scales better and has better base stats in offense or defense doesn't make her worse for you as a ganker, its influence is indirect in making her more susceptible to be picked, but it's not like scaling is your primary concern is Maokai camps you mid and you're 0-3 by level 5. I mean, I agree about the points like scaling in a vacuum, but we're talking about the viability of Anivia's laning, not during the whole game. At least I understood it this way.

On the other hand she can build pen and it makes her both tanky and bursty in the midgame. :[ Wtf Aranae, since when do you not suicide when you try that?

The thing about Lee Sin and Elise though, requires a lot more skill/effort to be played effectively. EDIT: Aranae's kill on Kami was pretty good.
