This happens in regular sports all the time, when an underdog team / org has some success. They lose players to better paying teams and have to scout talent and rebuild. I think they did that pretty fine with Mimer and Rallez for example.
But wow coke league eu is gonna be really stacked. Cant wait for the season.
Freeing your eSports rooster can only lead to 1000 years of bad luck.

Seems like there's a sudden influx of immature players that'll rage/troll/afk the instant they don't get the prefered pick or get just the slightest behind. If the player quality actually dropped you would win more games and climb in MMR. You should play more and not less if that actually happened. It wont happen though because statistically there are no better or worse 1500 MMR players (as an example) that would somehow selectively stop playing.
And sorry to break it to you but you are not better than the players you play with in your games (provided you played enough games to reach your MMR-home).

What you said is true Redox. It can be frustrating losing multiple games in a row because of trolls or dcs.
During the holidays and especially pre-season there are more people playing to win less than other times. It happens on both team of course but it's still not fun.

Yeah I know and its easy to talk for me as I dont even play ranked or barely play LoL at all. You hust have a different view on things from the outside, I intended no offence.

My point for player quality drop was regarding their human personality, I was gold before noticing that drop and I am gold now as well, I mean I win/lose relatively with the same ratio, however, before it was decided mostly by gameplay, while lately is decided mostly by which team trolls have bigger issues with their human personality :-)))))))

On-topic: In my experience Darius does quite well vs pretty much any melee including Renekton, but he's way more susceptible to ganks.

Ranked has been better for me lately. No one argues or anything, I just miraculously win games.

I think the superior teams consist of Figther (perhaps even tank), Assasin and Carry (AP or Ranged AD, Ranged AP is more flexible imo) From the fighter/assasin one should be in the jungle and should have fast clearing speed (jungle actually has enough gold to keep up with the lanes). From the two laners at least one should have good 1v2 laning since most teams do not know that jungle is good in 3v3 and you ll mostly face 3 laners (2 and 1) against you.

Lately as Jax top on Blue side, I've been testing out the solo red steal. If their buff is undefended (a depressingly common event) I level counterstrike and take it at level 1 by myself. This means I get to lane late, pushed to my tower with a health and CS disadvantage, but with a red buff and no level disadvantage. Questions:
1) Is this a horrible idea, and it is working only because my opponents are bad and underestimate a red buff Jax? I frequently have kills at level 3 with my jungler or even solo if I can bait before activating counterstrike.
2) If this is not a horrible idea, what's the best way to do it? My back-of-the-envelope calculations suggest that 9/21 masteries are better than 21/9 masteries, and that Long Sword / 3 pots is better than Doran's Blade / 1 pot or Cloth Armor / 5 pots, but I am interested in hearing everyone else's thoughts.

it's a bad idea because against competent/organized people buffs will be defended/warded at level 1, and if they see you through a ward its a easy first blood when they collapse on you alone in their jungle
|
Why don't you try taking TP and recall first and then tp to lane?
concerning Jax Masteries I'd probably go 9/21 mainly because most of offense is so shitty and defense so good, especially since most people go botrk/triforce you can use the additonal tankiness until you get your first defensive item at 25-30minutes.

Out of my last 20 games I can't remember a single time when red was unguarded, even on purple side. Wards or toplaner, to not use either is just weird.

2/2 on plat promo, that's stressful

Whenever I'm Purple side top I always stand in one of the Red bushes or in top tri. The tri leaves a vulnerability through wraith entrance but often the mid laner could spot you there. I think solo Red steal is a big risk.
Speaking of Purple side top, does anyone find the map asymmetry particularly bullshit at the top tier 1 towers? The Blue tier 1 has a very tight entrance that causes minions to form an impenetrable wall 80% of the time, making harassing the Blue tower way too difficult and dangerous. The Purple tower in comparison is open and doesn't cause as much minion blocking. Since bot lanes have range, this disadvantage isn't mirrored.
Honestly minion blocking is pretty awful right now. It's as if there's a ghostly Anivia casting walls on me whenever I'm trying to CS. Whatever happened to pushing minions out of the way, now they push me.

If anything they have an even more firm grip on them now. Scumbag managers like that Quantic guy will still be able to screw players over. Incompetent and useless orgs like LD will still stay in LCS forever unless their players actually lose. Players that are unhappy with their org will still have to either suck it up or leave LCS. A team org doesn't neccesarily own the spot, the owner of the team does. For example, Alternate tried to pull some shady shit and the players were like "nah, fuck off" and gave em the boot because the players as an entity own the team and Alternate was just a named sponsor.
Now Millenium is their named sponsor. (I think? Idk if they bought the team or the right to be a named sponsor.)
