scip, you rule thank you for wording all my points in a more articulate way and to the people saying hec's ult is better or that it's not underwhelming, i question how many games of hecarim you've played. lots of things look scary the first time you see them. i remember when i was summoner level 12 and i played against a tryndamere for the first time and he towerdove both me and my lane partner, tanked the tower for 6s and got a double kill, then spun out alive. 'OP!' i screamed. now when i play against tryndamere and he ults i just think to myself 'ha! you're just delaying the inevitable!' in the same way, the first time you see hecarim's ult you're like WOW AOE FEAR AND 1000 RANGE DASH THAT SHIT IS BONKERS and then you play him for 40 games and you realize 'jesus titties, this ult is slower than twitch's base movement speed, does no damage, and the fear is completely negligible, even if the enemies dodge it, my team won't be able to do anything significant while our opponents are barely feared... wtf i got GYPPED' scorpions rule horses dr00l | ||

There's currently a change on the PBE that (finally) dissociates the AS slows from the MS slows, iirc. It means you can cleanse/purge/etc. every AS slow in the game ('cept FH since it's an aura), and I hope it also means that when you cleanse the MS slow it doesn't affect the AS slow. Also the huge DotA patch that came up made me sad when I looked at Drow and Night Stalker. Cool active on her aura (her ult is still weird as fuck, although afaik there aren't nearly as much gap closers in DotA and the opportunities to put distance then reengage are more frequent) that helps with timings and pushing strategies, and a really cool power curve and concept for a hero. On our side we get the Kassadin nerfs that, while creating new use cases and opportunities to differentiate great from good (tl;dr you do way less damage during clean-up the way he's played atm, but if you manage to hit people with the ult instead of just rifting in pulse range the damage scales hyper-aggressively) instead of straight nerfing his ult, also streamline his powercurve by making his pre-6 smoother. The guy who's tweaking Morgana (Ricklessabandon I think?) also said that he thought her "unusual power curve" is a bad thing because it's not intuitive to non-Morg players who face her. God dammit forget about these dreams of homogeneisation! | ||

It's been confirmed on icefrog weibo and it's on the test client. Dota just goes through these huge patches every now and then but it's been rather timid since dota 2 came along. I guess he was waiting for the dust to settle before going back to destroying our sanity. | ||
