Therein lies the problem. The silver 5s who estimate themselves to be much better than they are because "I win lane every game, my teams just fail." Which is why I hate using a rank to estimate players skill. But I guess there's no system in place to do this more effectively.

Speaking from experience last season, I agree that this is the most toxic time of the season around the Silver/Gold barrier. I got as close as one game away from gold multiple times in the last few days but always ran into trolls or boosters who crushed me in lane. Happy to keep gold worry free this season. Might aim for platinum in season 4. Probably won't get it, can't be zen enough to persevere and improve that much. Far too critical of every slight mistake I make.

Working full time sucks never get enough time to ranked, dont feel like playing seriously after work -_-

Not sure if this belongs in QQ thread, but for the people making that grind from silver to gold, you should probably wait to play your games after 10 or 11PM. The games you play after hours versus the ones around 6 or 7PM are absolutely night and day. Had to report at least one person for 5 games because of rampant bitchiness or gold 5's pulling rank on silver 1's (lol). The average IQ just drops during the daytime.

Bronze is incredibly toxic towards itself and once you dip down there while being in silver it becomes incredibly frustrating to get out of that bracket.

Timezones pls. 10-11PM on the east coast means you still have a bunch of west coast kids potentially still awake and ready to rage.

The sheer time commitment is just awful.
Of course if you are legit silver V it's impossible.

Yeah but the truly better players will carry themselves out of bronze. It's the same at every level of play. Bronze has the most toxicity in it due to it being the lowest rank there is, but it's also the easiest division for one person to carry themselves out of due to laners being generally piss poor and not having much clue of how to play late game scenarios. A low level silver player may never climb out of it, but if you're actually determined on getting better, and work on that first, it's an easy climb.

Low silvers aren't that much better than high bronze. Anybody who things that a medal color change is super significant skill change is delusional. Taking a methodical way about getting of a bronze rut is a valid way to go about it, if it's say, mid season. Not when you have a small amount of time to cram to gold unless you have 0 responsibilities.

Do it dude, just relax and you'll get it npnp

Realistically, with how clamping and being unable to drop leagues works a lot of people in high Bronze 1 are actually higher MMR than Silver 5.
It's the same with every division. By the time you actually go up a league your MMR is so inflated you're getting more than double LP for wins than you're losing for losses, skipping divisions, etc.

Thus why you can see my argument before:

I don't agree with it either, but it's the closest thing to determining player skill that we have to work with, and in general if you are at a gold/plat level you're generally a better player than someone in bronze (who's stuck in bronze), so I think it's still better to work your way to be a better player before you worry about ranking up. Trying to rank up without a large skill discrepancy isn't feasible if you're taking into account time spent playing vs having a life outside the game. Best chance friend some diamonds who don't mind carrying your scrub ass.

? To get to Silver V means you basically are/were Silver III mmr, it's not THAT bad. I mean like if you had recently gotten Silver V and went inactive for sometime then yes it's going to be awful.

Isn't this just an ELO hell discussion with another name?

Not even close? ELO hell doesn't exist. Bronze has a high toxicity rate, that's the discussion.
