I believe that dealing significantly more damage to champions is far, far more important than being able to waveclear better. It's not like most champions have farming issues anyway(I even see good Leblancs have very respectable farm) and after that point you will often be competing with your team for farm anyway. There is a limited amount of farm available, after all. The importance of finishing an important utility item like Zhonya's Hourglass earlier cannot be underestimated either.

I have trouble getting seeds down, but that might have something to do with smartcast and me overestimating the range on W.

How much is significant? The difference between being able to clear the back wave creeps is a pretty big deal. Faster wave clear = more roaming and more opportunity to roam on the map.

Clearing is super important. If you can't control the wave, the enemy is going to just shove into the tower and force you to miss CS while harassing you and taking down the tower. Remember when Graves/Lulu switch top was a thing? Poor melee had no choice but to try and get 10 CS There's a lot more gameplay options available when you can waveclear, like shoving to set up a lane gank, pushing so you can back or roam, etc.

I would hope so, but I think that Riot doesn't really want a good Olaf, because they seem to pretend that Olaf Ult + Ghost is some sort of unique problem in the game, when really most champions who use a summoner + ultimate are really strong while doing that.

I personally think Nasus + ghost/ult now is scarier than Olaf was even at the height of his FOTM-ness. When wither was a 99% slow it was pretty dumb.

I feel the same way. Riot always and really underestimates how big an impact hitting ranges hurts champs. Ryze's laning was always suspect due to his base stats but could compensate with his damage and respectable range. I really think Riot should've accompanied the range nerfs with some stat buffs.

The movespeed change on ult sounds pretty cool. It fits thematically with the Riot teasers too :D.

I'm confused about 2. Does Ryze get the shield as soon as he presses ult and it gains 30/40/50 shield hp as he casts spells? Or does it stack up and Ryze gets it all at once when the ult expires? I honestly really like the spellvamp on his ult though. At levels 2~3, if you get some cdr you can use it as a really nice sustain tool. It's especially potent even in fights if you get Visage, which is not a bad buy on Ryze.

3a is neat; currently level 1 ult is honestly pretty pathetic since it's so short you can only really get one spell rotation off plus maybe an extra Q. Dunno if Ryze needs aa range buff; I doubt it's really necessary and would personally rather see more base hp or armor especially since Riot wants to push Ryze as a "mid-range" mage.

So it would be like "fake" "spell vamp", you get a flat amount of temporary HP for every enemy you hit.

There's potential for quite a bit of stacking with his ult giving his spells AOE and his E bouncing around fully though.

Maybe, but I just think Riot doesn't understand how to balance people who can use Ghost well. They seem to pretend that Flash-Ult is a normal mechanic, while ghost ult is an OP mechanic.

Is Ryze with ult up not good? I feel like Ryze's non-ult duration is the problem right now.

That's actually a good point, a CDR reduction on his ult could actually solve some of his current problems I think.

It's sort of funny when you think about it. Ryze used to be short ranged, then they buffed his range because they wanted him to be a long range machine gun-type caster. Now it feels like we've went back to the old Ryze that was unviable because of his low range, except now Ryze just is significantly worse in every way.

Man I don't know about you, but I get random skin ideas in my head all the time.

E.G, Harkonnen Darius, Disco Draven, Corrupted Lux, etc, etc.

Though I really do like it when they do Warhammer 40K themed skins. Was super sad to find out that the Chinese Lord Mordekaiser totally looks like a Chaos Lord while the NA one looks not nearly as cool.
