In season 2 I tried that with some friends. I was around 1400 and my two friends were between 1000 and 1100. We went 9-0 at the start and got to 1430 when 1450 was the cut off but then lost 30 points for a loss and got disheartened and they quit. On the other hand at the same time I saw streamers get into gold after 6 wins since their solo queue rating was so high. In season 2 your solo queue rating seemed to matter a lot and I assume that being unranked would count as around 1200 for matchmaking so you would probably have to win around 10 games in a row if the whole team is unranked. This is completely guessing though.
With all that being said, if you think you can easily beat people all the way to gold in 3v3 then it would probably be faster than solo queue.

If you duo'd with people below Gold level it dragged down your Placement MMR (ELO for S2) and thus you gained less ELO during S2 than a normal S2 placmenter (not a word I know) would.

Been watching a lot of meteos stream, he's like a more balanced xj9 but it seems like his entire style is based off of xj9's since no one else jungles like either of them.

Because Royal is basically 100% winrate in LPL with their support Annie + Fizz/Gragas teamcomps.
The teamcomp actually works quite well, it's just that you have to draft very specifically for/around it.

Get level 2 before enemy bot lane and its a free win if played correctly. You literally go all in with flash>pulverize>headbutt into condemn. If you have the perfect spacing between minions and your tower, your headbutt can put them in tower range, forcing them to take several shots from condemn's stun.
That, and cow is a great peeler if you don't need him engaging, which you probably shouldn't, as every game has a j4 or a zac in it.

You need to try Annie as support before bashing her. Aoe stun and really long auto attack range make her an ideal lane bully.
