I can't figure out an obvious way to calculate that 17.6 number.

If you a Nunu and you getting equal farm you doing it wrong. If you an Udyr and you not like double other junglers farm you doing it horribly horribly wrong. as for maths to get how much equal experience gets you with and without that: 19720 gets you 18. So, to get that 1.05 xp rate, if you only had 1.00 XP rate you only have 18780. Level 1 requires 2040 xp, starting at 17680 from being level 17. So you have 1100 out of the needed 2040 XP, which is about 54% of the way to dinging 18.

If you already a jungler that has a faster clear/counter jungles obnoxiously going 21 utility allows you to have more sustain, run faster, and have increased XP gain which gives you larger windows of time in which you are a higher level (READ: Stronger) than the opponent. Its a Starcraft website, you understand timing windows, no? Eehan timing?

Eehan timing? yah but you're acting like that 5% is pretty meaningful when it's easily the weakest part of the tree, again excepting some planned out cheese route. it's silly to exaggerate and say it gets you levels ahead when you can clearly see it doesn't do that much. The circumstances where you're actually a level ahead of your opponent in the midgame because of the mastery specifically exist so briefly, unless they've already gotten soul crushed. I don't think people would even abuse a margin that tiny properly in a competitive game let alone solo queue.

Sustain, movement speed, and extra XP sound good conceptually, but most popular junglers don't really need any of those, and direct offensive/defensive stats are way, way more important (especially competitively).

For some reason I always thought that the experience from one level to the next was flat, which is why this made no sense to me at first. Interestingly, the increased experience needed per level to get to the next is 110 (starts at 280 for 1-2, 390 for 2-3, etc.) which seems really random to me.

Which jungles can duel Udyr 1v1? Who can catch nunu to make him duel?

The only reason to get it is that it lets you hit lvl 3 after doing one buff and the wolves + wraiths. I have done it before for cheesy things like Morgana jungle. It lets you hit lvl 3 and gank mid before 3 min on a jungler that is too squishy to go buff to buff. Still very cheesy though, if you don't get a kill off that gank you are useless after.

That silly sod is me. Tomorrow, starting around 16:00 GMT (+00:00), Montegomery's Jungle Japers begins. I regret everything. I reserve the right to practice any prescribed jungler in custom games before going into the queue to tarnish my good name. I also reserve the right to drop out of the ranked queue and into normals if champion select becomes a game of dodgeball. Finally, I reserve the right to weep bitter tears of regret, sorrow, profound sadness, and emptiness in any way I deem necessary.

Er, I mean, gambling. There's no "not gambling" option. 2. You better groom that goatee like a playboy if you want me to forgive your saying you regret a gamble. This is a criminal attitude which should make you more shameful than any jungling performance you might display tomorrow. Get your act together, Mr. Monte.

It was stupid because what I did was equivalent to betting on Li'l Brudder in a dog race. Edit: Sorry VES I love you guys don't hurt me.
