alright to get back on the topic of league. I really like ezreal, he's my most played champ overall. but he has like no laning presence at all. This used to be no problem in silver-gold because I could just outplay most other adc's, but now adc's are pretty good at knowing how to trade. And ezreal sucks at that. Twitch, Graves, Cait, Vayne, and Trist can all trade better than ezreal imo, especially if I cant hit my q's because of minions or something. im thinking on just giving up on him, because I'd rather have an adc that can be aggressive in lane and actually win lanes without jungler presence for once. but that's too bad, because I really like playing as ez

it's funny, back when ad carries were mid laners ezreal was famed for his ridiculous level two all-in. even post-nerf it was considered pretty strong although nobody much played him for a long while.

Ez is pretty good at being aggressive if you are pushing your enemy and there are not that many of their minions around. However, Ez is also pretty bad at pushing. If you can get a support that is good at pushing and make them push with you, Ez can be rather aggressive.

I'm curious, what are your guys' opinions on people that get into challenger playing like only singed? Are they actually good players or not? Singed doesnt require basically any mechanical skill, and I wonder if they would be able to get into d1/challenger playing someone else that was harder.

You'll be just my type.

But guys, I just tried super splitpush Rengar top lane. It is the scariest shit I've ever seen. Tiamat and Bork gives Rengar the tools to do literally anything. Dives, 1v1, instant waveclear, amazing roaming, ability to 3-shot towers the moment the enemy laner leaves, and solid escapes.

Seriously this is wrecking some diamonds that I'm being matched against right now.

They must be doing something right, because there are only a limited amount of challenger spots. Mechanical skill is not the only skill in this game, and apparently they are doing something so well that they are in the top 50 players in their region. I'd guess that is something like decisionmaking due to an information asymmetry. In my opinion, success counts, because that is pretty much the only objective way of judging play in this game. Why should someone get to decide what is good and what isn't, when you can just look at what works. After all, it is not like noone else could play singed. But that guy apparently does it much better then anyone else.

Probably has good game sense and fully understands all matchups for that champion. If they tried to play another champ with same dedication no doubt they would be just as good. Also your definition of harder is funny. Considering meta, much harder to get to challengers with singed than most champions.

I agree with what's being said. You can "cheese" your way into Diamond, I doubt you can go as far as challenger without real understanding of the game.

Is picking champions you are very experienced with more important than counter picking? Like, I get into SoloQ, and I pick Kassadin. Then they pick an AD mid, Swain, or Cho (I don't first pick Kassadin, I swear). Sometimes they main the champion, like I main Kassadin, and I just accept that I'm underfarmed and underleveled. Then sometimes they don't, and with some careful play and jungle assistance, it goes in my favor and we end up winning because I have an idea of what to do with Kassadin (but I'm only Silver so I have a long way to go).

Same with Sivir. I tend to have good success with Sivir in ranked because I learned how to play the game with her, and I was playing with my level 30 friends as I was leveling. So sure, I could pick Caitlyn into Vayne, but I'm trash with Caitlyn in comparison to Sivir. But again, only Silver III. Do I need to have a large pool of champions to be good at in case of counters? I mean, I'm good at 3 roles (for my level), but do I need a lot of champions? I feel like I spend too much time trying to learn all these champions, and I get overwhelmed with trying to learn them and I don't feel like I'm progressing, instead of when I was leveling and I basically only played Morgana, Kassadin, and Sivir.

I want to get better but I've lost all my ranked games lately and I feel like it's because I'm always trying to counter something or prevent being counter picked. Mostly because my team complains if it happens when I go mid (they don't seem to care otherwise).

Playing what you're proficient with is a steady strat in solo q. Counterpicking has an odd way of going wrong if you don't know the ins and outs of said champion.

Speaking as a Bronze level mid player, counters mean diddly squat. People get far too hung up on counters. The amount of times I've seen people try to counter pick and get smashed is ridiculous. I play mostly Syndra and Zyra and people always try someone like Talon against that, but unless they play a lot of him, they don't get far. You're much better off playing a champ you know you can play well. If they whinge and moan, so be it. Chances are they were going to no matter who you played.

Plus, it gives you the experience of playing safe vs someone who is at an advantage. It's really good practice CSing and not feeding while you're at a disadvantage.

Counter picks don't mean anything. I know someone who will always first pick katarina, get counter-picked by everyone on the enemy team, then still get super fed and pentakill multiple times.

While counter picks are over rated. If the other person is equally skilled at said champ it becomes alot harder.

Even if equal skills in lane, it always depend on individual skills and your overall team comp. You can always "lose" lane and "win" game, laning phase is such a minor detail that rarely means anything unless you feed hardcore.

Learning to play more champions in more roles increases the number of strategies at your disposal, while practicing one champion improves your execution at a small portion of those strategies. Both contribute to the outcome of a game.

Depends on your champion. With stuff like caitlyn if you don't win lane you gotta afk farm next 40 minutes to not be useless.
