I think it's a side issue, one I didn't address, because if it were there, it would be only one of dozens of methods of improvement he isn't taking advantage of. Streams are an incredible force multiplier for the ability of high skill players to teach lower skill ones. TLs discussion is, imo, of a higher quality than ever. He could probably even go through and read devtracker posts and it would represent relatively high quality prep work. The guy is drowning in resources and opportunities for self examination, but we are dealing with someone who says he paid attention when he was told not to think. Swish that phrase around in your mouth. As far as his credentials in other games: i don't care. It's a non topic for me. The idea that syndra, who I have never played, is apparently some kind of a cheese pick does not move my heart. His problem isn't a lack of access to pro players, it's an inhibition toward critical thinking. Now if you want to discuss lack of access to pro players in league as a whole, that's a completely different issue - not one I'm sure we'd agree on, but a distinct one that needs to be drawn out separately. Okay but when you are "drowning in resources and opportunities for self examination," it is extremely difficult to shift through what's important and what's not. It's like, yeah, you have every opportunity to learn the historiography of the Korean War, but you have no idea what is considered the current canon of Korean history. Furthermore, I saw no inhibition towards critical thinking. Instead I saw someone looking to challenge himself and improve with players that are better. And having played and improved at many many games, I can tell you that playing with better people is the most effective way to become better, hands down. Nothing compares.

Definitely hard for someone new to come to these forums and figure out that's where they need to go. I think something like a once monthy or biweekly "Duo with a Diamond TL LoL Player" would make this clear. None of the whining about losing to tryhard diamond players because that's all you're going to get. Oh im sorry Don't go to liquid party go to "LiquidPractice"

Several complete whiff Ori ults helps. Yeah, right after champ select I expressed scepticism at nfaculty's teamcomp, but more because of Tryndamere reduced to splitpushing considering his opponents and gaminggear's comp being so good at ignoring disengages (Malph's cc-immune ult) and tower diving. I was surprised at Ezreal's going blue build too considering the general lack of damage from his team, but since he's against Tryndamere it helps him kite him. Is it because it's too easy to find a bad guide/the bad guides severely outnumber the quality ones? I mean I used I've used some of the guides there to some success, but I do think you have to be careful in what you're looking for. Sites like Millenium or Mobafire used to be really trash when it came to good content, I heard they've improved but because of that lack of quality I either never used them or stopped pretty fast, and I haven't went back to them since. I just stopped mocking since it would be obsolete, but the image they have is still strong.

In terms of community mentality, there's something unique about LoL where there's something of a stigma surrounding solo queue, where for most people this is the defining experience in LoL and normals simply take a back seat. Even for people who pretty clearly don't enjoy the solo MM experience, there's a lot of pressure to perform in solo queue as the means to measure your improvement. This is totally unlike DotA or DotA 2, where its pretty much a normal thing to play stacks or inhouse games if you don't like MM. Hell, even the idea of a pro player that doesn't solo pub is something that feels foreign to us in LoL.
