You can force him to teleport while blind, and spell shielding gold card should be easy. The only issue I can see is the lack of range on Nocturn's level 6 ult. TF ult lasts longer then Nocs. By a large margin, tf ult is 10 seconds and nocts is 4. At earlier levels it's much more useful, but you'll get out scaled easily.

And he's a bit more predictable in that he only has roughly half the range on his ult, and can't really instaclear the wave (at least not until it's balled up, while TF can kill it while it's still aligned). How does he work? Apart from the ganking, I mean. You try to tag the enemy laner with Q when he goes for a last hit and use the MS to catch up and fear him, with the spellshield used to deflect any cc/peeling thrown your way? Since he lacks a "true" gap closer I'm having trouble figuring how he kills his laning opponent (unless they somehow let him get into fear casting range). Let's be serious now, since when was "worse than TF" ever actually a flaw?

Also against TF I just go "fuck you", pick Viktor, and force him under his tower for the whole laning phase, and he'll only be able to TP when I back (or he does) otherwise he loses a full wave minimum each time, if I don't outright catch him, ult his TP channel and kill him (annoying to do tho). But I've got 0 kill potential on him unless I get blue (so I can E the wave and still have enough mana to try and lower him) and ward both sides to avoid ganks while I'm near his tower. He's just annoying like that. ^ I didn't mean to say that Noc mid is weak, however since he was compared to TF I went along those lines. I have never played it or seen it in my games so I'm curious as to how it compares (for example I expected Lux to "gank" faster than him through E instaclearing the wave and her ult having a similar range).

While he came off a little brusque at first, he just wants to improve like everyone else I concur. I'm not a fan of what he was saying either, but we were pretty rough. It's hard when it seems like everyone is attacking you. I hope he comes back and asks more questions because the more people we can help, the better. I just read the thread, and to be honest I actually totally agree with the guy. That was really harsh and totally unwarranted. We all have different opinions on improvement. This isn't athletic sports, where we have 80+ years of experience on developing players and really good systems on how to improve. This is a videogame and a relatively new one at that, we don't know the best way to improve yet and it could even vary game-by-game. Hell, we don't even know what to improve and the only pedigree we ever go by is whether the player is high ranked or not, whereas in many other disciplines there are plenty of top-level coaches who might not have even performed at a top level, but they know how to get it out of other people. There are also some people that are really good, but they don't know exactly why they are good, and they end up giving shitty advice because they think that's what made them better. Also, on Syndra, I wouldn't say she has a high skillcap but I will say she has a slim margin for error. The stun is a big part of your kit and missing a stun could be the difference between getting an ace and getting wiped. This makes a huge difference in the mid game when it's rank 1 and has an 18s cooldown. I think the real key to playing her will be timing her RE stun combo. The burst on R is great in the midgame but towards the end, the equivalent of a Sona Crescendo offers much more to a teamfight than just simply burst damage.
