ive done the nashor liandry build ever since i read the entire tl kayle guide, and with the new patch its even better its so fun

In terms of damage yes, in terms of sustain Irelia still has some. Using W purely for sustain is also not worth it at all because of how big the cooldown is.
And I'm actually surprised that Riot (Morello) always acts like Irelia's W doesn't have a cooldown and scales with bonus AD or some shit.
It has a long downtime unless you itemise CDR very heavily, which hurts her dps, and it doesn't scale outside of AS (unreliable because of peels and stuff) and levels, which stops in the midgame. Irelia's W is fixed burst. So it's not even about her damage because despite the bullshit Morello keeps spouting there is counterplay to it, and it's even better with s3 changes. It's more about the kit as a whole and what she brings (I actually kinda agree with him on that), but really, Hiten Style isn't the be-all-end-all, unlike, say, previous Void Spikes, or the Jayce's kit functions.
Also fatigue > me. Not because I play worse, but because it makes me forgot we're friday evening. Dumbass me, I deserve the kids rolling in.

Irelia is fine in the sense that she has mediocre burst at best. The "problem" with Irelia is her passive. I put problem in quotes, because Irelia is more balanced, and balance-able than pretty much all the FOTM toplaners.

First game playing lane Aatrox:
20-6, mid, loss. Start went really well after my jungler ganked mid opponent(Zyra) and I lived at 6 hp. After that I could just chunk her freely, I think she went like 1-13. Midgame teamfights and 1v1 or 1v2 skirmishes went really well, but 5v5 teamfights I couldn't really do much and got instafocused and CC'd because their team was so CC heavy. It was partially due to me being a fucking baddy and being unable to use Mercurial Scimitar properly, though.
Overall, he felt pretty powerful despite relatively weak teamfights. Q -> E has such a long range for potential catches when chasing and E -> Q is so good for running away. Q -> R probably shouldn't be used in 5v5s(got blown up a few times) but it's really good in smaller engagements. I am not sure about him being competitively viable, though, because he dies really fast when he gets CC'd down and he has no real damage unless he's close and he doesn't have that much sticking power(E is quite slow and easy to dodge). His gank assist is monsterous though and if your jungler slows the enemy laner it's a certain kill.
Still need to get better with managing W stances depending on the situation and need to figure out the optimal build.

Wasn't fixed with Puncturing taunt.

We've improved consistency for abilities that behaved inconsistently when the targeted enemy uses Flash. We’re cleaning up these interactions so that either the ability won’t cast or Flash won’t be used up (it will be one or the other, never both).

As long as the account is yours (you leveled it from 1-30) or the old owner gave you the account (meaning your IP is the only that logs into the account anymore), then you're fine.
