Man I'm watching this unaired CLG documentary. That own3d contract really fucked over CLG. Like really fucked over CLG. I seriously wonder how they would've done in Worlds if it wasn't for the whole own3d streaming thing.

they still would have beaten sk and lost to iG and Frost

Desire for mastery?
I've always been someone who likes playing the underplayed mages. Viktor, Annie, Karma, I picked up Zyra immediately on release and figured her out before a lot of people did, etc.
If you want to get good at a champion, you need to play a LOT of fucking games. I have ~350+ Viktor ranked games, and I'm still not where I want to be (skill-wise) with him. The more games you play, the more experience you get. I absolutely love trashing people with Viktor and getting a "Did Viktor get buffed?" from the enemy team. That kind of drive and love of success keeps people playing the same champs for a long time.

Wait, is the patch live yet? At work currently so I can't check D:

"we only lost because x counters y" and to me that's just silly when there's so many other factors involved.
sometimes i would rather know a matchup inside and out and find the enemy's one weakness in a sea of overwhelming strengths.
but that comes from following the fighting game scene and seeing very skilled players win bad matchups.

I have a friend who has played since early S1, 95% of his games, at least, are Garen.

Yeah, idk. I just feel like playing the same champ every game gets tedious and can be less beneficial to the team..I got really good at Riven and Akali, but I ended up hitting a wall with both of them once my MMR improved (as well as after they were nerfed) and now I seem to be having trouble adjusting.

95%??? Wtffff. My friend only played Annie for a majority of his games as those were his two "favorites", but I don't think he went above 60% of his total games played just with her. Did he play Garen jungle/mid/supp as well? Lol. I guess once you find that champ you really like, you can stick to it and treat them as your champ. I guess I'm more of a jack of all trades, master at none. I really, really want to get good at a champ though (I had a 75% winrate with Akali for a while, but lately I just get frustrated playing her. Maybe I should just man up and keep playing her, haha).

And some champs can be played in multiple roles like Zyra mid/support. But personally for me I like playing long ranged mages with evil laughs, Zyra fits the bill perfectly, and i used to play Brand a lot in S2.
Edit: It was recently pointed out to me that Wildfire Zyra has an owl on her chest, cannot unsee and don't really want to anyways, it looks pretty cool.

You don't get better by trashing the opposition. You get better by getting trashed and then making adjustments. Struggling with a champ as your MMR increases is the BEST time to keep playing that champ unless you make 0 changes to your play. But then, that's the definition of insanity - "repeating the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result" (paraphrasing some guy that I don't remember - I could google it, but I'm lazy)

From ranked I have about 100 games as Lulu, around 80 games with Leona, Taric, Blitz and some older supports and between 50 and 70 with most other supports. Nami's my lowest right now with 27.

Tried the new jungle on just one empty game. Forgive me if someone else posted this stuff already.
With the new spawn timers and a jungler with a fast clear speed (I was trying Shyv), it seems you can go Wolves > Wraiths > Golems forever. No more of that awkward time where nothing was up, no lanes can be ganked, so you back just because. If you have the health to stay in, you can stay in forever. The camps will spawn as you are heading to them or as you arrive (if you have a speed boost like Shyv).
Shyvana seems good again, still obv no CC but the new Madred's/Wriggles seems to help her a lot. Ran a full clear with 0 leash (and did not even smite 1st buff) and was fine with Machete/5 pot. Solo'd drag at level 8 with Wriggles taking almost no damage.
New wriggles seems usable, not sure about the cost increase.
Edit: Unrelated to jungle, I have about 400 games of Diana played, almost all jungle. It's cool knowing a champ that deep, at almost any time I know what she can or cannot do. Very rarely do I have those "Oh, I thought that'd work" moments like with other champs.

I usually go on streaks of playing a group of 2-3 champions almost exclusively but always drop them when they get nerfed or another champion whose aesthetic/mechanics I like is buffed. Now I'm inspired to focus on one or two champions and become confident with them though. It's a nice feeling to be 100% confident in all your matchups with a champion, and I haven't really had that since playing Irelia in season 1 (and that was mostly Irelia being Irelia, not my individual skill)

Stuff about my Garen friend. He just instalocks Garen and doesn't give a fuck. Doesn't play all that much anymore recently. Usually when he has days off work we're all at his house, pissing off his mom by being loud at 2am. >=]

I find the idea of these trashtalk threads kinda weird. I would be down for a real, unsarcastic trash thread where we would all voice our honest opinions, but the "funny" aspect in those threads makes it kinda useless imo

my stats on elo buff are all messed up. its displayed <1/3 of my total number of wins, is this supposed to happen?

I played like 350 games with skarner, was really fun back when he was a rappist and you just rolled. Now I have like 170 games on rammus, still really fun 'cause he is a rappist and rolls people.
