I tried a max Q over max E second on him once: it was rather funny how much your poke chunks squishies with only a BT in the midgame. Plus slightly longer AA range sets him out from the pack abit. I could see zephyr rush being fairly effective on him. Considering how blight stacks work, early AS bonus is nice. No escape but decent slow CC; makes 10% MS amazing. Gets a huge chunk of CDR. Decent amount of AD. I don't see why it couldn't work. Varus is extremely power, his lane dominance and midgame power spike is pretty silly not to ignore, especially considering how blight stack works he can chunk through tanks HARD. I'm really surprised how viable he is with no real strong form of escape; I think the strong ward coverage of s3 made him viable as fuck (since no escape). If you're using the same pun twice, you're not gunna have a Ice time. That's cold, wei2coolman.

Wow, that's cold man. On April 04 2013 11:04 phyvo wrote: Comments like these bestow on me sensations that my cavity is surrounded by pipes containing monochlorodifluoromethane. Hm. Varus' ultimate however is not unconditional. It's range is still limited and tbh by the late-game spell casting is much less useful compared to direct autoattacks and stutter-step micro. He does however have a much stronger mid-game and laning phase than Ashe thanks to his spell power, and split damage type is also really good. Stacking and proc'ing blight stacks is also very realistic in skirmishes.

You can go bork on varus in some situations for the ultimate peel but other than that it's not a very good item.Sort of ok if they have a tank team and you are behind since you'll do more dmg with it+lw instead of ie+zeal. Only way to beat cait is to outplay her. There is no magic items/simple thing you can do ![]() As for counterpicks I'd say cait(skill mu)/varus(a VERY well played ashe) beat draven and against cait anything can work but you have to outplay her.Generally easiest with draven/ez/ashe/varus. Also draven is REALLY strong even if you go even.Don't listen to these confused people who seem to think he falls off >.>. Draven doesn't fall off I agree. I'd just prefer a Varus/Ashe/Vayne/Twitch/Sivir over a Draven, if they went even in lane. That's what I mean when I say if you go even you're fine. Seriously though, if you're passed 6, and have a hard engage support, just all in Cait. She can't use her ult in skirmishes like that, while most other ADC have a useful skirmish ult. @above E max second? I thought you max E first. That's what I've been seeing Koreans do, and the harass from it is insane. Definitely like their skill order of R>E>W>Q.

Zephyr first won't cut it since BT makes his spells spike in damage (and BotRK is an all-around better first item AS item for DPS), but Zephyr second over PD/Shiv? Hmm. 50g more then PD, but 30% Crit vs. +25 AD, +5% MS, 10% CDR, and 35% tenacity. That actually sounds like a pretty sweet tradeoff.

Well considering that Zephyr is 1k gold efficient for all its stats (not including tenacity); while non-stacked BT is breakeven in costs, is definitely something to consider.

The same can't be said about Ashe though. Unfortunately. As a formerly big Ashe player back in Season 1 and the first half of Season 2, the meta has been pretty unforgiving for her. Enemy team has dive, or Zed? Ashe dead, unless you have very potent peel. Against teams that mostly rely on AS or kiting or poke, however, Ashe does alright (but not enough compared to other ADCs in that situation). It's so sad, my first 1v4 quadra was with (a decently farmed) Ashe back in the beginning of S2, all accomplished with proper kiting and orbwalking. D: I didn't even have arrow too! It definitely is: the thing is a BF/BT in lane is huge, versus AS. AA poke/trade doesn't rely on AS to the same degree as on AD, and a vamp to BT is tremendously good sustain (again important in lane). Once you move out of the lane phase into the midgame movement/skirmishes/teamfights, Zephyr's stats become much more useful.
