But I believe it's pretty much the same bullshit over there too. People being voted in because of their recognition, instead of their value as a player. I resent with that very sentiment, why reward people for their fame, not talent? The point of playing the game is to be the best at it, not be the most famous for playing it, right? It doesn't matter how talented and hard working Maknoon is, if Expession happens to be better than him right now. It was our chance as fans to reward someone who has been working at his art really hard, but has yet to reap the benefits. Maknoon is an amazing player with a winning personality. I don't question him as a player, but he shouldn't be topping the charts right now. There are others more deserving than him, and some of them are not even being given a second glance. As for the World Championship qualification spot, I'm kind of skeptical over whether the team Korea would take it as of now. I'm ever hopeful, of course. Fair enough, it's certainly developed into a popularity contest, although the NA votes are shaking out in a way I'm okay with. Giving the fans the only say is far too much, as someone suggest it should be like Baseball and Football where it's 1/3 fan vote, 1/3 player vote, and 1/3 media vote. I didn't watch OGN last year as a didn't buy a subscription, but I've caught up on the recent games and I agree, Expession is really good. He doesn't have the personality as Maknoon but if he keeps playing at his current level I think he'll gain some more recognition from the NA side of things.

Rightfully so. gtr asks about him, everyone tells him that Deezer is a piece of shit/hacker/racist, and then you go and accept him on to your team anyways. AND THEN, you don't reveal his real identity while asking for donations, instead just calling him 1g1d when you know who it actually is. I'm going to be honest. I have been extremely disappointed with gtrsrs's behavior as manager of both DNG and Velocity. You aggressively trash talk other teams and players, have a hugely inflated view of "your team" and "your players", and in my mind just act completely inappropriate for a manager who wants his team to be taken so seriously/treated like a professional organization. You might not give a shit if I'm disappointed, but I really wished for a lot better from a guy who is such a known TL community member. I love supporting TL LoL players in their endeavors, it's really exciting and I feel a connection to them. gtr with his teams was no different until gtr's attitude completely ruined any good will I had, and even turned that into bad will. Meh. vocal minority, as is much of reddit i do appreciate your opinion but i don't sympathize with it armchair managing is easy, actually doing it is tough ^hmm sorry that came across a little blunt and rude, didn't intend as such i guess i'm just tired of everyone thinking they know every side to every rumor or piece of news when they only know what the public knows. and people expecting me to justify or explain every decision made. you want to replace your arguably best player with 1 week to go before a tournament? good luck! it's definitely not been easy. as far as i'm concerned, 1g1d is a perfectly reasonable and skilled league of legends player. i never followed sc2 so i haven't been caught up in the deezer hate. the stuff that people have posted to me is pretty bm yeah, i can't deny it. what am i supposed to do about it though? he hasn't been bm in any practice or scrim, and there's no opportunity to ghost at a LAN. call me a sucker for giving people a chance to prove themselves, but it's worked out with cris so far. if 1g1d was a bad pick for the lan, i'll take the heat. if it works out, then it works out. my options on such a short notice were extremely limited and i've done the best with what i have. thanks for understanding

I got over the fact that I didn't like Cris's attitude originally and ended uprooting for you in the LCS qualifiers, but I don't think I can do the same with Deezer. His history of shitting on the entire esports community just goes too deep.

but srs deezer is kind of a scumbag, i won't deny he's a pretty good gamer, but his attitude is what you'd find at like bronze 4.

It was our chance as fans to reward someone who has been working at his art really hard, but has yet to reap the benefits. Because 99% of the player base doesn't have a good enough understanding of the game to actually judge ability. They can only see results, fame, and recognition because their understanding of the game is too poor to judge a player's actual ability even on a basic level. Why do you think people went the longest time believing TSM would stand a chance against foreign competition? Because they saw wins against NA teams where they looked good--they could only judge the fact that a player got fed and looked like he was carrying, with virtually no ability to actually judge the strength of their play.

Like some people are gonna shit talk you guys for having him on your team forever and always. But let's not forget that at one time Jatt was the most hated person in the League community. And Hotshot rage happened every day. People can change, the community's attitude towards people change even more.

I have no background with SC and had never heard of Deezer before so unless someone tells them you're probably right. This forum is obviously biased since it seems everyone knows who he is lol.

I get where you're coming from. But Deezer definitely has a bad rep, so keep an eye on it. I'm sure you already know this, but I do understand management. Your public image is definitely important if you want to last (just look at TSM), and Deezer's public image ain't a good one. You may find it stupid (I certainly do) but the masses need to be placated at least somewhat. It's a game that anyone in any business setting needs to play - even those of us who don't care about our personal image. Best of luck.
