Probably the thing that bothers me the most is the ambiguity of the new system. Just because you are diamond does not mean your MMR is good anymore. If you are in diamond 5 at 0 LP your MMR could literally be anywhere granted you lose enough. The same problem exists with Diamond One division, where there is a huge MMR gap between the people in it. Some are actually high/close to challenger, while some are MILES away.

It really leaves you confused to how good you actually are.

People have been already calling BotRK a super broken item like every game, won't be surprising if it gets nerfed(regardless of wether it really is op or not).

It does more damage as a first item on its own then any other item. It scales better then any other item and it also has a really wicked active on it. Its probably op.

Man, after just a little bit more than a month away from the game I feel like I have to play hard for a week or so to get my shits together -_-.
Lunar new year was too much for me, gained 3kgs in 2 weeks...fuk, I am so screwed.

Hey guys!
Im not sure if im posting this in the right forum,but there is something on my mind for quite some time now and it cant wait any longer.
So here is the deal:Im playing LOL for over 2 years now,i used to be around 1400ish now im in silver 3.Question:How do u beat ap yi mid? This is the only matchup(exception is ap trynda) i have never been able to win...No matter how hard i try not matter what i do its just unwinnable for me.And im talking about a HUGE lose,not some 30cs or something.
Problem is i try to position myself in lane so he cannot reach me with his q but i cannot.I fail.Sometimes i feel like im waaaay far at the turret and he STILL procs his q on me.Im at the point where im not having fun anymore.PLS HELP if there is helpt at all...
Currently im raising a smurf on EU east so that i can play with my friends and the amount of ap yis are more than bearable.My main is lux, im quite allright with her,usually i beat every1 in lane even the bully ones like kat and akali but not yi (

The new rankings have no effect on the hidden Elo/MMR, that's still based on wins/losses, not League Points and Divisions/Tiers. So yes, in theory you could be the same Elo as someone but be in a higher/lower tier, but that has no impact on matchmaking.

Edit: My point being that more time could equal a higher division if they get lucky enough, but their Elo would remain relatively the same.

If they chose yi first I go cho mid and have lots of fun. Otherwise I'm kinda sad like you.

The mechanics of alpha strike are pretty weird, I never really understood how it worked until I just bought yi and played a few games myself.

alpha strike range is off the minions it hit.

So place yourself enough range away from the closest minion to you.

It's just as easy to tank though, granted you're not dropping 400 ELO or whatever.

It's hard to grind up because promo matches can be brutal, and yeah granted you won't drop a tier once you get there, but if they won that much tbh they deserve to be higher up. Lots of people lost a lot of games and are now at the bottom of their division, trying to climb up with measly point gains since their hidden mmr is low, so it's even harder for them than before.

Personally I'm like going 50/50 at the Gold I/II border. I play a decent amount of ranked, average a game or two of it a day. While I get matched with players up in Plat IV, I think this is the systems way of telling me I'm where I belong and I'm happy to have a challenge grinding up

As an ADC the nice thing about new BOTRK is that I get everything I want for midgame in one item (life steal, damage, and attack speed). Add on the fact that it's cheap as shit and I'm not sure what Riot was thinking. I was skeptical about it at first since Madreds was so bad on ADC and BOTRK gives zero crit but apparently the math supports it as a good early and late game item in an ADC build.

It should definitely be more expensive at the very least.

Botrk is way to strong right now half the players in my last game used it. It is a great mid game item with none of the drawbacks this sort of item should have.

Yeah BOTRK builds make many ADs scale way earlier... After just the BotRK they can participate in fights in a way they couldn't dream of with just an IE.

Even though it's more difficult to actually finish opponents off, dropping them all to low hp and having your APs or bruisers clean them up is basically what ADs are best at at that point of the game... The active is just an icing on the cake, able to heal you for like 30% hp off a tank or to use as a finisher / baiting tool.



Probably building it on every single bruiser and AD as first item.



By the way, I really like the item and don't want it to be reworked. I'd prefer it if they just increased the cost, or maybe nerfed the active.




Also these day 1 OPs really make me wonder, who on earth on Riot is testing this stuff?

More nerfs. Patch updates don't look right for me with Kayle. Kayle was always 40% slow, not 35% so the change was from 40-35%.

So I think their numbers are coming from an already nerfed PBE rather than what we're used to in game.
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

i like the botrk change in theory because i tailored many builds where i was like "if i only could purchase an item that gives lifesteal and attackspeed at this point in the game"
