I think I had a similarly distasteful reaction to Caitlyn's nerfs when I first started but champions are more than just 10-40 damage or 1-2 seconds of cooldowns. I started doing poorly as Cait after the nerfs but that was because I got matched up against better players. I tried Cait again last weekend and did really well.

I know, but it's so cost effective that even for someone like Jax who probably makes the best use of the item out of anyone in the game, I would still rather get BotRK with the item at the state it is at now. While I agree with you before testing it out myself (and so does Xypherous, as he said with the post he made on PBE when the changes first came out), Im not sure this is a bad thing. If anything, Jax and Irelia having a way to punish bruisers in lane who tank up is a good thing. Less obnoxious Renektons, Shens and what have you. And its not like you cant build to counter it after lane with attackspeed slows, as well as the fact that it has a long build uptime and more than likely bruisers cant rush it like an AD can because they have to build survivability. It also gives no MS... Honestly though Im more excited about being able to justify building Boots 3 on my AD Carries to help with kiting now that I can put my at spd on what would be my BT itemslot. Also, After watching that LCS game Eg vs GG, does anyone else see logic in sending Irelia or Jax mid? I mean, they both gank well, they shut down ad casters really fucking hard, They excel at building damage then tanky, and if you give them safe farm they are both very hard to deal with lategame. I say that because I think if they put Irelia mid, Nid bot and made top 2v2 they would have won that game. Next thing, PSA: Liandries got patched so that It works more efficiently with DoT spells. Apparently they were losing some .5 second ticks on it over time so now its even more rediculous on them than before. I dont know if it was in the patch notes. Last thing; Ive been having a really hard time getting Ahri to work right now. I like her, and want to play her, but it seems like it doesnt matter how much I dumpster on my lane, we lose because if I waste my ult to escape once the enemy team can abuse it really fucking hard. If that happens twice I lose the game, and thats very likely given that my at my elo there are no wards, and I cant seem to farm hard enough to have enough items to carry and ward the map. Lategame, Ahri cannot kill anything, and against 4000hp bruisers I dont know what to do. :S Anyone have any tips?

If there are a lot of knockups/ults you can't cleanse out of, barrier is generally superior. Why not get both? That's what I do (while building defensive stuff too). Probably just makes it even more desirable to complete BotRK first.

It would screw up balance a bit, but it always felt odd that "suppression" wasn't the ultimate CC even though it felt like it should have been.

Less warmogs in the midgame and adc's that are not useless in midgame? edit: in response to BOTRK is OP posts. Not everyone agreed that ADCs were underpowered for starters so it could always be people who thought ADC was fine as is and that this now makes them too strong. More importantly though, I think a lot of the BOTRK is OP might be a bit premature. It's a good idea that provides an alternate build path but I think it's too early to tell if it's the only item to buy as an ADC in the early parts of the game (and frankly you'd never buy this late game if you opened with some other early game core). The biggest issue with the item is that it seems to be good on everyone. Bruisers and ADCs both like this item which isn't necessarily a problem but it's causing it to be bought frequently by multiple people in games (and part of this could just be people's excitement). Simply put the item is just too cheap for everything that it gives. Bump up the cost by like 300 gold or so and maybe no one would call it OP. On March 02 2013 03:52 Ketara wrote: So, I take it people are going with botrk rushes as ADC now? Start longsword+2 or what? Dblade start is still better than longsword+2pot in most lanes imo. BOTRK rush seems to be the strongest early/midgame build path but it's entirely possible, if not likely, that going IE/PD/LW and skipping BOTRK results in more late game power. However the downside is that during the time when you don't even have IE yet and your opponent finishes BOTRK you'll be quite a bit weaker than them. Basically if you would've gone BT it's probably better to just go BOTRK instead but that doesn't mean that IE rush is bad you'll just have a weaker midgame than a BOTRK rush ADC. In solo queue it's probably smartest to BOTRK rush right now. Typical build I've gone and seen is dblade -> boots1+vamp -> cutlass -> BOTRK/zerkers -> IE. I'm not sure if IE is the best thing to get after BOTRK since those two items don't synergize that well together. Maybe going LW after BOTRK would work better. Dunno it's only day 1. Ignite is better in kill lanes if your opponent didn't get barrier (or in 2v1 lanes). I personally play ADC for the late game and prefer Cleanse over Barrier but that's just me.

I'm really worried about playing Quinn. I'd still buy her since I love play AD carries, but having a carry that jumps to the enemy champion would make me shit my pants all day.

This isn't true, you're completing ignoring team composition, which has a huge impact on whether cleanse or barrier is better. You can't flatly say cleanse is better in late game situations.
