And when it's teams like TSM relying on him rather than, say, Gambit or the Koreans, I wouldn't put too much thought into it. He's being sarcastic, he's saying the nerf isn't justified because it has no impact on competitive play we already weren't seeing Darius picked. Like it or not though, Riot has to make some consolations when it comes to balancing the game for casual players.

Edit: yeah, I hit "quote" before I read the following posts and realised I got had too. Though just because he isn't super picked anymore doesn't mean Riot has to be content with him: as Morello said when talking about his rework, the idea was that the longer you fight, the more dangerous he becomes because of passive stacks. Turns out Darius can pull, QautoW, already 3/5 stacks and you're slowed enough that without a dash he'll catch you without fail and apply those two other autos. He's supposed to build tanky, requiring you to fight him a long time to get him down, while making you fear those long exchanges because his passive and ult/W mechanics make him stronger the longer the fight lasts and the more stacks he gets. In that context 5 stacks is certainly not enough, and the cooldown on W isn't a big enough incentive not to use it right at the start to stack the passive and burst your opponent down. I could see them working on Zed and Kha'Zix too to make them more assassin-y rather than the dps/reset monsters they are now, but they seem content with them, and even thinking that Zed's too weak, so... :/

Was super annoying until my toplane just came and dunked him. This is a risky spot to camp as the jungler. If the enemy jungler goes wolves, blue, wraiths, wolves, red, wraiths, you're wasing to your time. I guess if you get a smiteless blue, and as the blue team have the ward in that side bush by wraiths you could steal the red when the jungler crosses mid to go back to his wolves, but with out the ward you're completely guessing he's gonna do golems.

Out of all of them, I recall losing my lane once - so basically, trolls and just bad players all around. And now now, I have won like 14 out of my last 15 games while doing nothing differently, while playing the same heroes. Even got carried once. Just competent teammates all around (minus one guy, who insisted he can play anything but supp, picked ez and had like 50 cs by 20 min mark). What are the chances? A lot... xD I lost 2 promote series in a row to Silver 5 and then went on a losing stre right down to bronze 2 xD

Irelia isnt quite there yet, Riven can work, depends on how well you play her (im horrible on riven). Its all about getting trough the first couple of levels without getting behind. The 4 I named are pretty safe in lane early on My Akali is pretty solid, I feel extremely comfortable on her but I tend to get a little too ballsy in team fights and end up dying to a pink ward. Playing Shen on the off chance he isn't banned is a snooze fest so i prefer to stay away from him lol. Haven't played Renekton in forever, is he considered strong now? And I like nidalee I'm not sure how to play her properly though, maybe you could give me some insight? Do any of the more experienced TLers (Bly, Shake, Chrispy, Smash, Neo etc) have suggestions for this? Recently I've improved from about a 1200 level of play to an 1800 level of play in a couple of months and I'm looking to see what that next step is to push me into high plat and potentially diamond by the end of the season. Currently I just snowball with Riven, Akali, and Irelia as those are my 3 most comfortable champs, but as I play better people it seems a lot more difficult to do so since less mistakes are made. Are there any top laners in particular that I should know for every matchup? Any input would be welcome ^_^ Does anyone else have any thoughts? Want to grind out play ASAP and then start practicing since I just finished most of my midterms.

It is distressing to me that after Wave and Requizen so generously carried me to gold league I'm still at a point where 30-40% of my losses come from somebody being AFK or trolling. I figured eventually that kind of crap would stop.

I tend to just open Faerie+wards/pots>Philo>Ruby into sightstone but after that it feels like I get bogged down and can't buy anything useful. Morg support can be ok, but only against certain supports and only if your ADC scales better late than them(and ideally they need to counter them in lane as well) For instance Morg should, in theory, entirely shut down taric in lane. Though your shield does come up a bit later than his stun comes back up his burst is entirely magical and relies on the stun landing. But your ADC has to be stronger lategame(and ideally better at harass in lane too) since you can't aggress onto them with morg (your snare is your backup peel, so if you engage you've got only your shield and they can just fight you even without the stun) and since you don't provide as much in a team fight as taric is likely to She should have similar matcuhups against Leona (though you have to land your q to interrupt her dash or the magic damage from her abilities will break your shield too fast and she will get CC off) and maybe Alistar (but you've got to be much quicker on the binding/shield with Ali). All of these rely, of course, on your ADC being able to out-harass their ADC because you provide basically no lane presence with the exception of neutering the engagement opportunities from those hard engage supports. Dude *rushed* an Iceborn, then built a Banshee's veil, while completely ignoring damage. He then started to build a Zhonya's, but we lost the now-obviously-4v5 game after that. Oh God, i feel your pain. A few weeks ago i played with two Ezreals in a row that did that shit. I served this guy 8 kills up on a platter in lane and then he buys ICB we get in a team fight and he says "GG can't kill Cho". Well yea, no shit we can't kill cho you didn't buy any god damned damage!.

You're the reassuring, calm voice in our ears telling us to fucking ward and stop playing like retarded monkeys when we overextend.

I'd also say GP might be worth trying out top. You can do some pretty stupid shit with Vol-- oh wait, bandwagoning. Also, you can think of smite as an extra 1gp5. It works about to that much with the mastery.

I used to play him a lot, and he kind of is in a shitty spot right now. Tankplank is more or less useless, and Critplank (or any other damage-oriented build) doesn't really do much in the tanky meta unless the enemy carry is really dumb and steps out of position 1000000 times.

Haven't had much of it (several people threatened to afk, particularly when I "stole" a kill as a jungler, or took farm they wouldn't have gotten anyway in lane, like last-hitting under tower, but didn't actually followed) from Silver IV to now Silver I. Though I'm using my unemployment to play ranked mostly between 12 AM and 6 PM so I generally don't have any kids or teenagers playing some games after school, and I avoid playing it on the week-end too (I'm often at a place with a worse connection anyway, and now there's the LCS). There are still ragers and stuff mind you (and I used to be one too) but far less, and people are generally more friendly and communicative during the game (I remember a Friday evening ranked session, ugh).

In other news, Wickd has started playing Irelia again but without the weird "buy all the attack speed items in the game" builds that he was doing for a while. I guess that triforce buff did help.
