If he's splitpushing I don't see how he's any different to deal with than AD trynd apart from the fact that he deals far less damage(even with E) and he cannot 1v1 anything. Hopefully I'll get games against better AP Trondomeres though.

Still, in 1v1 he cannot afford to waste heal because he needs it after his ult, and E really doesn't deal that much more damage than with AD especially if they go Youmus(which imo is currently good for AD Tryndamere). This means that in a committed 1v1 AD Tryndamere is far better. AP Tryndamere is better at running away I guess, but if AD Tryndamere would have died, I don't see how AP Tryndamere wouldn't have. The main thing probably is the AP getting him past his awful early game. I should have experimented some more with starting AP and then selling it all and switching into AD in the early midgame. Actually, starting 11pot will probably fix the earlygame issue...

You fail to understand some of the most basic and annoying things about him - his heal has a 7 second cooldown - there's no need to save it or anything. His spinning slash deals quite a bit more damage as AP over AD and it's extremely low cd, especially if you crit once or twice. His 1v1 and 1v2 is nothing short of amazing.

He can trade 80% of his health for 30% of your health, and still consider that a very good trade, because he will be back at full health within like 20 seconds. He also instaclears waves and crushes towers, so if you do have to back, the tower is gone. Dcap Nashors CDR boots trynda is near immovable from lane, and very very slippery, and it only gets worse the more AP he gets. With 600 AP and cdr cap, you can solo baron or solo their base without minions.

It's only a 7.2 sec CD with 40% CDR which you get from your first 2 items (Nashor's, CDR boots). I bet you think AP is weak because you're playing it wrong. Knowing you it's almost certainly the case.
