I haven't listened to Living Things, but I rather enjoyed A Thousand Suns. Minutes to Midnight was only kind of ok, but I like that they're a band that has different enough sounds every album that I have some that I like and some that I don't.

About the mp5 it reduces the cost-effectiveness of the item for non-mana users, but it doesn't modify its slot efficiency. For items like Nashor's Tooth (AP+AS is a rare mix) or DFG (with its active and its interaction with Morde's or Vlad's ult, or even Kat's passive), it's not really the cost-effectiveness that I'm looking at, but the absolute it brings, and compared to that paying a bit more because of a stat I don't need was certainly worth the rest the items give. It'd be like saying "but I'm never cock-blocked by minions since I'm range!" to justify not buying PD on ranged AD champs—it's not bought, but because Shiv is cheaper for not much less, allowing an earlier timing.

Old DFG had 60 ability power, 12 MP5, and 15% cooldown reduction with 650 range. For Morde and Vlad it was probably still a good buy despite the fact that the mp5 was completely worthless but it probably wasn't something you'd first buy or even second buy (maybe not even third buy). And when we get to your fourth and fifth item choices we're starting to split hairs as to what's the best thing to get as by that point in the game your final two item choices can vary dramatically based on tons of variables. So I don't think it's that big of a deal to dismiss old DFG as not very ideal on non-mana users (though it almost certainly was under appreciated on champions like Morde or Vlad who would get within the 650 range, it should be noted that I did see Morde DFG builds back in S1 and early S2).
As for Nashor's it has the same issue it has always had. It's really cost efficient but not a ton of champions benefit from all of those stats. We saw Maknoon build Nashor's on Jax back in S2 Finals when it still had mp5. It was bought somewhat often on Teemo or Kayle in S2 and even S1. But the reason why it was under bought and will always be under bought is because most champions who want AP don't really care about attack speed.

Linkin park are awesome :O Meteora + Hybrid theory too awesome. Minutes to midnight was meh for a while but it grew on me and now i love it too, a thousand suns was whackshit and i dont like any of it, i like the first half of living things but both their last two albums have been way too different from their old stuff for me to enjoy really, I appreciate the fact they like different music though.
Also, a 16 yr old who likes linkin park in this day-n-age is a rarity. I liked LP when i was 14-15 which was 6 years ago and even that was really young for an LP fan.
TL:DR LP awesome, we're all old bastards.
