The point being, for a long ass time Ezreal has been a safe "pretty good at everything but not the best at anything." Basically the only nerf that ever really mattered in my opinion was the nerf to his W because the AS debuff was incredibly stupid. But he's also been super popular. Because people like that champion and his design and always have (and always will). He also happens to be pretty easy and forgiving because of the way his E works and long range farming with Q (but I'd argue that someone like Trist is much better at keeping people off her than Ezreal).

My real question is whether or not Riot is nerfing him because of his popularity or because of his strength during pick/ban stage since you can first pick him with no real consequences. Does Riot just hate the idea of a safe pick or does Riot just not like the idea of a champion being so popular in a role that already has very few champions to pick from?
