I can't remember who, somebody told me to try and drop Viktor's W under TF as he TPs to counteract it (I was talking about how W's delayed stun doesn't do much in the match-up as TF TPs faster than the 1.5s necessary to stun, and even if you drop the field where he lands if he has a card locked he'll auto -> Q in under than 1.5s too). I assumed he meant that W starts ticking during the tp (when the circle of cards forms) and TF gets stunned as soon as he appears, before he can attack, but I just tested it and it doesn't work that way (still takes 1.5s after he appears to stun).
Anybody knows what he was talking about? You drop Ws as he tries to teleport and he'll be stunned on arrival? Or was he simply wrong?

If you're talking about "convenience", then I think Yango was talking slot-wise (because we're only getting one non-CDR offensive item) rather than cost-wise.

Yeah that's what I just tested and it doesn't work (obviously TF's going to get stunned, but if you can't stop him from getting a gold card -> Q off then in all clean-up/peeling situations it still is a "weakness" of Viktor's W in the match-up, kinda how his Q won't shield him before the stun+Q hits even if you cast as TF appears).

oh, i misread what you tested, sorry

I would follow up with CDR, but the game usually ends before then. Olaf is really strong because there's such a high incentive to build health (which benefits his w), his ult gives free armor penetration (which hasn't been lowered to compensate for the season 3 changes... yet), and the active part of the ult gives free resistances.
Personally I think CDR is a little overated on Olaf at this point- people get armor really late and if you get a black cleaver, you're doing near true damage against most people's base armor. So just building more damage is really good too. You get the CDR to spam his mana-less true damage spell that ignores armor anyway, I wouldn't say that's overrated. If you build tank/CDR you can dive in and blow up a squishy and survive, as opposed to building damage where diving is much riskier and your burst isn't as strong. That's not even the only thing that CDR is giving you. You're also getting ~1 second cooldown Axe throws (PHYSICAL damage, so black cleaver is perfectly happy with that) because of the -6 sec when you pick up the axe. Olaf's Axe reset was nerfed to be -4.5sec. I only realised this lately too ;/
True, but with 40% CDR the cooldown is reduced to 0.3 seconds when picked up instantly. Since the animation for throwing the axe takes longer than 0.3 seconds, for all intents and purposes getting 40% CDR makes picking up the axe refresh the cooldown.

Hmm Olaf is so broken right now, do they plan to nerf him ?

The moment I tune in I see Diamond use the knockup 3rd hit on a creep instead of Lulu...

This is generally why I save Viktor's ult specifically for when TF tries to roam in lane phase. The silence kills his TP. Obviously this is a little bit harder to do/predict when lane phase ends. I don't think you can get the stun done if you lay W just as he's starting the TP.

Nunu and Xin both Locket first.

As I was saying earlier, if we nerf Olaf, we need to bring up to par more 2v1 laners. I guess an ult nerf would be fine, but in reality the problem is the Resist nerfs, HP buffs, the AD Caster/Assassins, and 2v1 lanes.

best change of this patch IMO That was always so obnoxious esp after playing any of the new champs like Graves Maybe one day they will also fix Karthus/Cassiopeia Q so they can be made to NOT be smartcasted.....
Cass q so impossible to aim when they make u smartcast it... Hate that there is no visual circle to use, cant even check the radius on the explosion as well as making timing them more foreign feeling and awkward than necessary. After like 1 week of not playing her I lose the timing of her q. Her e on smartcast though...oh boy thats fun times.

I guess the best of the best are always on the same wavelength as our yango =) I've been going Locket first on my Olaf top, as well. Pretty sick item on him and always funny to see people go "wtf my ignite didn't kill you"?
why am I seeing so many Kats going Liandri's tormet? isn't it like one of the shittiest items you could get or am I missing sth. I mean if you get Haunting Guise it'd be ok to finish it as 4th or 5th item but some people rush it.

If you want to practice the range/AoE on Karthus/Cassiopeia Q, click the icon. This isn't practical when in combat, but if you're having trouble with the range it's an easy way to remind yourself.

Nunu bought a doran's blade. x) And yeah Soniv, I've come to hate that match-up become of how safe and forgiving it is for TF, it's just so boring (I ranted about it in the Viktor's thread, waiting for more games to write my thoughts about flask+pot+ward start).

What do you guys think of Caitlyn as a solo mid? Good? Not good?

I've recently reverted back to Boots + pots start for most of my Viktor games. Really let's me be aggressive and get my dominance early back, even if they do pack their bags full of sustain. Not really sure how practical it is, but it's what I'm comfortable with.

Yeah I'm just spamming games so I have a decent sample size and variety of match-ups (AD Trist wut), but I've already determined that in several match-ups (like TF, or that Tristana) I'll want the boots so I can basically Q the opponent on cooldown. Flask gives me more mana but I generally end up using it on E at level 4-5 to counter wave pushing than spamming my opponent, so... Flask still trucks boots openings in terms of sustain but noone starts flask so it's 'k.
