The new matchmaking is really starting to bother me. I'm 1300-1450ish elo pretty consistently. Lately, I get an unranked person about once every two or three games, whereas previously I was getting about one unranked per twenty games (and they were almost always duoing with someone whereas they're not anymore). Most of them aren't even in their placement games anymore.
Last game I played, here's the teams based on ranked wins and elo:
181 wins, 1383 elo 4 wins, 1406 elo 3 wins, 1446 elo 4 wins, 1356 elo 84 wins, 1278 elo
against
6 wins, 1384 elo 8 wins, 1343 elo 4 wins, 1335 elo 0 wins, unranked (2 ranked games total, all this season) 11 wins, unranked
First team is my team, second team is the other team. I still gain 15 elo off of this, but how on earth is this even remotely fair to the other team? The overall score was like 40-10, and the game was effectively over 20 minutes in baring massive throws. My team has 5 people that have obviously played a crap ton of ranked (although a lot of it is from last season), and the other team has 2 people who have almost zero ranked experience. Which ends up with absurd situations like Jax building ninja tabi/brutalizer/stinger when he's getting dunked on by Shen all day long, and the enemy team not surrendering when we could pretty much all die three times over, and they still wouldn't have much of a chance.

So there's been a lot of talk lately about own3d dying and Azubu TV coming in the future and possible competition for Twitch. After watching the EU LCS on the Youtube livestream, I feel like it might be an interesting alternative, at least for tournaments anyway. The instant VOD/DVR feature is really cool and the stream quality was on par with Twitch. I don't think Youtube has a partner program or anything for streamers, but I could see a lot of people using the Youtube stream for the LCS.

Im not really understanding you, the second team should destroy the first. The first team has 2 players that are legit 1300ish elo, while the other team is all still in placement. Thats more about luck(getting bad unranked players) then being about matchmaking being bad. You cant tell if those unrankeds are 2k smurfs or newcomers.

Usually when weird matchups happen I just wave my hands and say "lol duo queuers"
You could also email Riot / post on the forums about it, since it's also possible that there is some bug with their new matchmaking that they'd like to know about

If this were last season then the "unknowns" might have a decent shot, but the partial elo carryover means there were 2 players who have played a lot of ranked in season 3 (both on team 1), 6 other players who played a decent amount of ranked games in season 2, and then 2 people who have almost never played any ranked gamed at all. One of which is obviously not a smurf. Additionally, the person with 0 wins already had 2 losses before entering the game, so why are they getting matched up with 1300-1400 elo people? 1200-1300, I could understand.

I don't really rush chalice on supports but I think it's a pretty obvious buy after philo and sightstone on certain heroes, eg nami.
- the timing is good because you'll probably be teamfighting soon and the MR will have value - having the philo regen /w your chalice passive is about the right amount to give you unlimited mana, which is so powerful with low cooldown high cost sustain. being able to just mash w on cd is huge

This can happen because the hidden elo/mmr for the unranked players can represent a higher rating than their skill. Their hidden rating is volatile because it's based on a small sample size. And on that note most of the players in this game have low samples so this type of match could have wildly different results over a lot of trials.

Spit on philo all day, it's not even worth buying between kindlegem and shurelya. :<

Thanks man, checked it and his stream died so the VoD was up immediatly^^
surprise, he went hextech gunblade into mogs/randuins and other general tank items haha.

not clicking the link, not that it means much but getting a lot of hits on that hype page is just going to make Alex Garfield feel justified for the way he treated Slasher, again I know they probly won't notice but I'm not going to do it.

Never been a great fan of EG but with JD, Stephano and Snoopeh... might have to rethink now^^

I never get this. Why cant people be a fan of a team instead of a brand Oo. being a fan of ex-clg/now EG doesnt make you have to love anything else about EG.
|
I hate EG but i love exCLG.Eu.
what should i do?
i will not cheer for EG, thats for sure.
|
Now there needs to be a race between thorzain and clg.eu in who can finish a game slowest.
|
Don't want to give EG the opportunity to brag about their supporters when you actually only support some members and dislike the organisation itself, probably, or something along those lines.
