At least the: TF: I can ult to Karthus so you can ult to me(TF was basically at his inhib at this point) Saint Shen: okay *ults to TF although TF isn't in range yet and it ends up finishing before the TF ults to Karthus* On January 06 2013 07:33 Alaric wrote: That or I read it badly. It was in the thread linked for the AD casters nerfs, the idea was that AP as a stat isn't the end-all thing, and putting more AP into the items isn't the only change that would make AP casters better. What's annoying me right now is the lack of real way of reaching 40% cdr on an AP caster without bleu buff. Sure, you could buy locket or things like that, but from real AP casters items? Morello, CDR boots, DFG, Grail. Grail doesn't suit everyone, nor does DFG, so you're basically forced to go 9-0-21 and chug blue pots, or build cdr boots/Morello, which I don't like. Hmm... You could buy 2 DFGs, probably better than DFG + Morello though not as cost-efficient.

The nerfs don't change that much honestly.Still a fun and very strong champion. Could someone explain to me why would you ever pick taric over sona/lulu/leona/janna/zyra?Like every time someone gets taric I get confused :D.

I guess Taric + Graves is pretty strong and he's good against people who don't stay far away from brushes

I disagree. Playing Lee Sin made me appreciate a lot of the finer points of jungling and made me a much better player at every position, because I know what their jungler is doing 90% of the time.

That's the thing though, people in soloq rarely play a champ perfectly. All it takes is one instance of being out of position for a Taric to hit his point and click stun and blow up an enemy thus snowballing his lane. Plus it usually happens more than once a game. At low Elo, people's positioning is notoriously bad and Taric is great at punishing that (kind of like Amumu and Malph are especially good because people at low Elo are likely to group up instead of spread out.) Edit: Also I think you are heavily undervaluing the utility of a point and click stun and the insane burst that Taric provides. He's a safe pick, not bad or anything.

Thats what I know. Edit: Morello said he was thinking of taking MR/CDR off of Athene's in exchange for more AP. I think they need to revert the Deathcap change to help out some scaling AP casters. Penetration-centric builds need to be less standard, because those items are so good defensively anyways.

Could someone explain to me why would you ever pick taric over sona/lulu/leona/janna/zyra?Like every time someone gets taric I get confused :D. Combinaton of healing+defensive aura+no skillshots+kill potential I guess? He's well rounded in lane. His zoning is more powerful than Sona's because while she can chunk you if you make a mistake, Taric kills you (when the lane is ahead in both cases). He can lose to harass because Q is extremely mana-heavy with a long cooldown, but if gets bearable with a chalice and if you get to smack stuff for mana and cdr. You know how you lose to Blitz is he hits a single hook in lane? Taric's stun with a burst lane (Sivir, Graves, Varus, Draven) is more or less the same thing, with sustain and less dangerous to dive. Rushing locket on Taric makes him ridiculously tanky, he's easy to play, and he actually isn't as shallow as I'd have thought in teamfights... if you get CDR (cdr boots+locket for example) and consistently hit whatever's diving your carries, your ult grants you a healthy bit of AD and you can get your heal down to 5-6s (theorical minimum of about ~4% with max cdr), so while you lack utility you can globally enhance your backline performance. I get more kills in a Taric lane than a Leona lane on average because the coordination is a lot better due to the time it takes for his stun to reach a target (even if it means you'll never catch an Ezreal, Graves, Corki or Sivir who plays correctly). Also even if your laner fucks up you still have sustain and his aura to switch to a more defensive playstyle. Lulu, Sona, Zyra poke, protect and help zoning but they should never get a kill pre-6 if the enemy botlane know what they're doing. Taric, on the other hand, has his point'n'click hard cc available from level 1, it changes a lot of stuff, in and out of ganks.

I went from being pretty subpar as a jungler to winning 60%+ of my games as jungler, regardless of whether I played Lee Sin in the 1400 elo range. I feel like his escapes and mobility make it relatively easy to learn when to counter jungle. Made me cognizant of what the enemy jungler is thinking, which helps a lot.
