It's frustrating when your 'home' team never wins international tournaments and still puts in less effort than most Korean teams.
The NA team hate is largely from people wanting them to do better. I really hate people saying this because in all cases it's willful ignorance, not a legitimate complaint.
Nobody complained about Korean BW teams being "faceless" and having "no personality". Why? Because past maybe the early years of BW, you pretty much had to get familiar with them in order to really become well versed in the scene. And taking the slightest effort to do so shows pretty clearly that the players are anything but faceless. But when SC2 comes out, everyone calls what is more or less the same player pool the "faceless Korean threat".
The only reason Asian players/teams are faceless to Western audiences are because Western viewers choose to be ignorant.

Beating wickd is easy though. You just ban irelia and wait for froggen to pick AD so wickd has to play Rumble.

It's a real problem. It exists in MMA also with Brazilian fighters. Those that speak English are much more marketable. And using BW as an example for anything related to the west is stupid as pro BW was a VERY niche thing in the west. I am sure you remember how small this site was when you joined in 2008, because I sure as hell do. Major threads moved several posts PER DAY, where now pages can be cleared in minutes or even seconds, BW events were never in the US that mattered (sans Blizzcon), etc
The smart Asian teams will learn English, it's what they do in MMA and it will work here as well if t hey put the effort. The TOP TOP TOP players can get away with it (which is why Toyz is so popular despite not speaking English afaik), but if you aren't Top 3 team in the world that is irrelevant.
I don't care personally, as I don't mind translations, but to say it's not real because BW fans did not care is just plain silly.

I just still don't like the term because it implies that it's a problem with the players and not the audience.

The fuck.. lol Combination of OP Draven and duoQ with pros Yeah that's usually how he gains elo. I remember looking at his stats a few weeks ago and seeing all his AD carry stats being garbage yet him somehow still being 1400ish and seeing him constantly being carried in games with pros or people like Phantomlord.
As much as I really don't like the guy or his attitude (or PL, for that matter) I have to give him credit for some of his play; he's definitely better than me at AD carry, and I'm ~1500 so maybe, JUST MAYBE he deserves it.....

I haven't played him since mid-S2 (and I sucked on him then) and then he was gutted so I haven't touched him in a while. New items + new ArPen formula + Urgot though = splooge city.
Cleaver+Manamune+tank items (SV/Frozen Heart/GA? This puts him over CDR cap but meh). With a Flask/Faerie/pots start you can be super abusive in lane with an aggressive support and still be able to pick up on some last hits with Q when you get auto-outranged.
Thoughts?
Edit: Also, fuck all you Eve haters. I waited forever to be able to play her again; she deserves to be OP. NyJacky ran Urgot mid in the SoloMid series several times with decent success. With the new items I think he's pretty strong there, but with the ult range nerf I don't think you can run him bot lane as easily anymore. On the topic of nyjacky; Why is he playing Veigar in pro tournies again? None of the s3 changes seem to suggest viegar being stronger than he was in s2? Or is it sort of the lull between major tournies, that they're allowing nyjacky to have fun? I mean, he's been doing good as veigar; but what's with the sudden switch? Dunno about the patch, but meta-wise it seems like the worst time to start Veigaring it up, with all the bruisers that infest mid nowadays. Probably the bolded. He's still really good at it, it's definitely not something you want to pick when it can get countered with an AD Mid, but Jacky is good enough he can usually outplay AP Mids that Veigar usually has a hard time against. He carries hard with Veigar lol. I heard Saint won't let him play it, surprise surprise lol
