I definitely think they will qualify, as they are #2 team in NA in my opinion. If they won't, rumors are they will disband. (I think Cop said it on stream)

I think their weakest link oddly enough is saint. That being said they still a vastly better team than they were.

The NA team hate is largely from people wanting them to do better. I really hate people saying this because in all cases it's willful ignorance, not a legitimate complaint. Nobody complained about Korean BW teams being "faceless" and having "no personality". Why? Because past maybe the early years of BW, you pretty much had to get familiar with them in order to really become well versed in the scene. And taking the slightest effort to do so shows pretty clearly that the players are anything but faceless. But when SC2 comes out, everyone calls what is more or less the same player pool the "faceless Korean threat". The only reason Asian players/teams are faceless to Western audiences are because Western viewers choose to be ignorant.
Frankly, I think you're a little out of touch with the general populace. It's not a question of willful ignorance, rather the combination of time zones, language barriers and the lack of publicity making it extremely difficult to find out much about Asian teams. Asian teams are notoriously secretive, both in Starcraft and LoL. Contrast that to a team like Curse, I don't even like Curse, but they're always streaming even when they scrim. The players do hundreds of interviews and the team employs public relations staff, interviewers and casters.
As I said, it's difficult for the "casual" viewers to get any semblance of personality from the majority of these Asian teams. Whilst you might know the personalities of KT Rolster B's entire roster it's because you aren't a casual fan! Your comment about people simply needing to take the 'slightest effort' to dispel the shroud of faceless Asian teams is extremely misleading. It tells me either we have a different understanding of what each other means by 'casual', or you don't understand marketing.

The fact that we're here discussing this means that the people we're talking about aren't really casual - I wouldn't consider people who make an effort to talk about the professional LoL scene here on TL to be "casuals" in the sense that people who only play the game and watch tournaments when it gets linked in-client are casuals.
If you're here on TL, or even Reddit, and complaining about "faceless Koreans," that is 100% a case of the willful ignorance that Yango is talking about. You're already making an effort to follow the proscene, but you're arbitrarily limiting yourself from looking into the Asian scene until they show up at worlds and stomp white people.

So it's past midnight here. Now am I not going to mention it in the TL general thread because the LoL subforum has my heart or just because I'm too lazy and my tab is opened in that one...

He has to improve his other champs -.- I disagree here. Learning one champion is a great way to improve. Once he gets high and good enough where people will start banning Draven against him, he will have already made it, and can start learning for example ezreal or cait.

bw here was fun because most of the background, story, etc. was established through play. we knew people because of their signature styles, like say, hyuk. and that was a combination of the people posting here as well as the excellent writing team.
that's the personality i enjoy seeing. not baylife huehuehue l0l better bench elementz.

Is there any high elo account that only plays Zed yet? You know those names like Best Riven NA (back when pretty much only played Riven) , Spamhappy, etc.

I'm interested to see if people's opinions change once the Season 3 leagues officially start, with the Riot league in place, watching Korean teams should be easier than ever. Although it probably won't help most of the casual viewers who are generally inclined to root for NA anyway, you have to put forth a little bit of extra effort to find out about team personalities.

I agree with you that the "casual" argument is plain wrong, but you cannot deny that there are some specific caracterisics that are easily marketed than others. Even in SC BW, most koreans were kinda impressed by the foreign scene because the audience actually cared about skill and not the look or the haircut of the players. Boxer said that having a good look was important for a progamer. Skill is only important for a small part of the community. Most peole just care about personality, look, and want to entertain themselves... and if you can t communicate through language well... Good luck entertaining your viewers. How do you explain maknoon popularity ? Because he tries to speak up.
Also happy new years, I'm in a karaoke and the songs sucks.
