Meh, its a big shift in game design IMO. Defense was generally cheaper than offense, but now the difference for the two is a lot smaller.

I'd personally like it to be the other way, I'm not a fan of 5 second mash keyboard and hope for the best fights.

It also does 10% of the enemies current health as magic damage and you gain 200 health.

Don't know if anyone else saw it, but on Toyz stream when he used Q on TF Irelia got hit once, then she Q-ed to a creep and then seemed to get hit by Wild Cards again. Did this happen before?

I've been going Rylais + Liandrys on Akali with some success. Dont know how it stacks up to more traditional builds like gunblade or dcap rushing, but all that extra HP works well with your resists in shroud, even if they have vision of you. The slow + extra burn seems strong.

Went boots, BC, BC, BC, BT, Hurricane on Draven and dominated the match.
3k+ HP on my adc? Check.
Be able to 1v1 the enemy adc who went a regular build and who was at that time even up 2 kills? Check.
Chunk a full-armor Mao? Check.
Destroy the enemy team armor with my ult, so our toplane Riven can nearly 1v5? Check.

Even with the nerfs to BC i will build 1 on every Champ who does physical damage, the item is just too retardedly good.

I think liandry's should only be core on teemo and elise top.

teemo because it's stupid on him, and elise top because well, when you get hit for flat amount + % max hp and then burn 5% of your remaining health, you get pretty tired of that happening every few seconds.

The ability to solo the enemy ad probably had more to do with you being draven than your lackluster build.

You either have a high skill-cap champion that is super strong (OP) with the best of the best, while the worse players are doing okay at best. If you nerf the champion, it becomes inaccessible to the large user base since it's high skill for less reward, but on the other hand it balances the game at the pro level.


Actually, game balance in a "competitive esport" only has to do with how it balances out for the highest level of play.

I don't really get your point. So what if Froggen thinks Anivia is in need of a nerf. Being really strong but having a very high skill demand to unlock that strength is perfectly fine. In fact it's good design. Why would riot want to ruin good design just because a progamer wants to play something else(Even though he's just playing bruisers these days)?


I think Anivia's skillcap is not as high as Cassiopeia right now, yet no one cries about Cass nerfs.

So if league is a competitive esport as riot tries to say, then how come they aren't nerfing the bird (and other top tier champions) who is clearly op at higher levels? And why does league balance in favor of casual players (remember riot saying they wouldn't buff xin because he was too noob stomp even though he was garbage in real games)?

I still think competitive league is a joke, there's practically no sponsors and at this point only riot is throwing money at it

edit: a problem with league is they add new shit to it too often, so power creep becomes a massive issue (i.e. everyone has fucking resets, no mana issues, some new items are absurdly powerful now, etc.)


Considering the viewership numbers at IPL5, calling competitive League a joke is a bit stupid.

Using raw numbers with no background for LoL is pretty dumb though tbh. it is the most played game in the world that can have it's player count measured, it'll have raw numbers on everything because of that. less than 1% of lol players watch the pro scene. it's pretty insignificant to riot as a company.

So, I feel like Urgot is very strong now.

Muramana + Black Cleaver + Iceborne Gauntlet seems like an awesome combo on him.

Muramana gives a ton of damage, Black Cleaver combined with his existing armor shred will be great even after BC gets nerfed. Iceborne gives him the AoE Sheen proc, but also a bunch of mana and CDR and tankiness.

He could go a Mercurial Scimitar after that and get even more damage plus be able to un-CC himself after switching with somebody in a teamfight.

Seems scary.

Tried using muramana on Syndra, but the enemy team surrendered before I could get the 750 mana...

I'm having a lot of fun with support jarvan in the new patch. Mails pretty quick now and really nice for tankyness. Beacuse I'm support I can build just pure hp and armor because if I'm jarvan I'm diving into the enemy team and getting blown up instantly. if their ap carry is blowing his combo on me thats job sucess. Nothings more fun then useing jarvans combo to knock a few people up and then ulting and spamming all of my items before I die.

I think riot really needs to look at mr items and try to make them easier to itemize. I'm not sure what that means but I can't really look at too many of them as a tank in the modern meta and see value. Expecialy for supports I only see Health really as the preferred tanking ap stat. anyone know a good tanking mr item?

There is no modern meta as of now, so I doubt hope they don't change stuff too quickly. Give the new stuff some time, right now things have to be experimented with.

I ment my current meta of diveing into the enemy and dieing instantly. with hp being more cost efficent then getting mr or armor its better off for you to just do and die for damacia.

But regardless (see your edit now) Whats a good tanking mr item? Should I be picking up the hexdrinker or a wits end?
