He's severely outclassed by a bunch of champions pre 6, but after that, Jax is pretty much the easiest champion to lane as, in my experience at least.
Completely different topic: are there champs that you just KNOW are great, stop playing at some point and then rediscover them? I just played a game of Wukong where I went Phage > Aegis > FMallet > LW and I wrecked faces. He's soooo tanky, yet deals ridiculous amounts of damage (that ult scaling) and is really really slippery. I don't know man, he just seems great.
Monkey's cool, but with Darius so popular it isn't too easy to line him up. He also loses to champs who can stack armor/HP and with sustain (WW, Irelia to some extent—enough armor runes—, etc.). He destroys Teemo (with proper timing to be able to Q him), Kennen, Vlad and such though.
I'm feeling frisky, so here's what we're trying with Karma's Mantra Soul Shield: "Stuns in an area around the target, damaging targets... and shielding the target based upon how many targets were hit."
That sounds broken lol
From what I recall of previous posts, Karma's Mantra was due to become much more of a true ultimate, getting a long cooldown but sticking with the idea of enhancing other abilities. I guess it would effectively mean Karma can choose to use one of three different ultimates depending on the situation. This one sounds like it would be similar to Lulu's ultimate.
After having played DotA for a long time, the one thing that irks me about Karma is that they more or less shoehorned in Wisp's Tether ability onto her kit, but they didn't import any of what made it fun. What made Wisp's Tether ability fun was that his entire kit interacted with it. Heals transferred through the tether, he had a steroid that buffed both himself and the tether target, and his ult was a teleport that moved him and the target.
Obviously these specific examples would be blatantly OP in LoL, but the point is that the skill in and of itself was boring--it's the interactions that went with it that made it interesting. Insofar as Karma's kit has nothing else that directly interacts with Tether, it's not an interesting or fun skill on it's own, and I'd rather they gut the skill.

I agree, but I would argue that Wukong scales so insanely well that it's actually possible to put him up against certain champs that he loses to or doesn't flat out beat. I agree that he wins most if not all AP matchups, but I usually pick Jarvan into these because I feel way more comfortable and useful with him, because Jarvan is the single greatest champion in the game.

Is that a no-jungle elise/jax top lane?
That's a support Elise with Jax toplane, and a support Nunu with smite bot lane giving buffs to Graves early on.
m5 rolled IG but the gold was dead even out of the laning phase. Right now the lanes take jungles anyway, so IG took it to an extreme and gave all wolves/wraiths to mid and golems to bot lane, and buffs to the appropriate people.
Dunno if that strategy would work as well (or at all) on purple side 'cause bot lane can't farm golems. Also would be interesting to see how that strategy would work in the new jungle once that change hits. It's cool to see teams trying new stuff though.
You can do laneswap if you're purple side as well, I'd guess. If you take a champ who already can 1v2 lane (Jax, Irelia, etc) and give them the same sort of pseudo support like they did with Elise, it could work out.
I didn't really understand the Elise pick either to be honest. That team has no initiation minus Orianna or Elise's shitty initiation with her single target stun. All you need the top lane support for is harassing/zoning so that Jax or some other melee carry can get a big gold advantage even though he'll have a level disadvantage. There's surely other supports that could harass just as well or better while being more useful later in the game.
True, however, I think Elise has some of the higher base damage poke in the game with her humanoid abilities. If she can utilize that to harass out a top lane or just assist Jax in laning, Jax's late game can make up for hers in a big way. I think the strat has a lot of downsides that can be abused, but I don't think Elise as a champ is one of them.
EDIT:
I need an idea for a small but complex programming project that I can attach to my Riot application. What is something small that you guys think could be automated via a succinct and efficient program? I could do one of my bigger ideas, but they'd all be like, weeks to a month of work and I want to get this application out soon-ish.
GLGL. Don't have anything off the top of my head, but I have my second interview on Friday. TWO MORE TLERS IN RIOT PLOX.
Well, it's really more of a time killer for me, I don't expect to actually get hired.

I remember reading that now that you mention it, so it could be cool. Really depends on the duration of the stun, AOE size, and strength of the shield.

I'd love for them to do a fatal bonds/tether combo thing for karmas tether with mantra
if you hurt karma the tethered enemy takes damage if you heal the enemy karma gets healed if karma tethers to an ally damaging the ally karma takes the damage instead and healing karma heals the ally. that being said i feel S3's item choices are already a crazy karma buff to the point she does not need to be reworked.
Jax shits on WW really, really hard. Armor stacking alone doesn't cut it because he dishes out a lot of magic damage. Jax also has the edge over Irelia just by their champion design, but it's slight enough that if Irelia gets ahead due to a gank or by simply outplaying, then the lane can snowball in her direction. It's a skill matchup with a slight advantage for Jax.
On the other hand, Jax isn't really great against Vlad from my experiences from playing the matchup on both sides. Jax doesn't stick to Vlad as well as Irelia does. It's very playable for Vlad.

Alright I've played ranked for so long that I don't know how to do blinds now. Do I rush to lock something then call a lane or do I call the lane and then pick a champion? Complete massive retardation is abound @___@.
In blinds you must drop your expectations of the meta because you'll get 2+ people instalocking mid or top or whatever with fairly high frequency. So just pick whatever champion you want and play it wherever you want. Or you can try to be helpful and fill in whatever your team needs most. Sometimes you can pick a champion and say a role and there's a slim chance your team will cooperate, but don't count on it.

call lane (''top'' or ''top pls''), then instalock, then dont say anything for highest success rate of getting what you want if you dont want to be a dick though then just ask for a role, get the champion that you want and wait for the instalockers to lock and then decide if you want to fill in the role or whatever
It appears reddit is trying to copy what we do here. I have little doubt it will fail horribly due to the structure that reddit is based on.
Still though now we have something else that we can be assured that we are better then reddit at .
Also the point about blinds is that you have to take it a bit less seriously then ranked. if you want to win you'll learn to play roles that other people don't like playing. Ie support le tank le jungle.

Yeah, the comment system is not conducive for a general discussion thread like we have here. Do you just filter to see new comments? Seems really awkward in my opinion.
