The true damage change you're thinking of never made it off the PBE way back when.

x_x why do I remember them changing it to true damage at one point? :s Imanidiot.jpg
Ah, thanks monte. I was looking at the wiki for patch notes and was like wtf lol
Also the statik shiv vs PD seems silly to me. PD is still the go to choice for ranged AD carries, and for bruisers who actually want one or the other (which are few and far between) you'd want the ignore unit collision more than the 100 magic damage to 4 targets every so often. Creep blocking is like a melee's worst nightmare.

From Toyz AMA:
Q63. Hesitation: what are your typical preferences for glyphs and quintessences based on your playstyle?
Toyz: flat AP quintessences, flat magic penetration marks, health/level seals and ap/level glyphs

Is she worth picking up?
Shes The type of support you will want with Mele adc's instead of ranged adcs. The rock (j4) and roll (nami) conection is the most amazing thing you've ever seen. Its been really quiet but I'd expect that riot made nami to make mele adc's viable.

pretty standard, only thing that's different from "common build" is that he's using scaling ap instead of MR blues.

AS/Crit/MS is like, why wouldn't I just build PD instead? For 300 more gold you get more AS, more Crit, 1% less MS but get "ignore unit collision" instead of the 4 target 100 magic damage proc. I mean, I guess it's nice that it builds out of Avarice for people like GP or Trynd, but eh. I've been musing a lot on the removal of FoN. For non AP users, what are your big MR items now? SV, Mercurial, Banshees, and I guess Maw. FoN used to be my "go to" big MR buy on a lot of tanky characters, I don't know what'll replace it. i thought they said they were basically redistributing FoN functionality. Presumably, that also means a big-ticket MR item? also, I think banshees is a pretty good choice if it gets a few qol buffs. Well, the item with the most MR on it now is SV, but I don't think it's nearly as good. FoN was nearly always a good choice because MS, heavy MR, and the regen passive were good for everyone. Heath, CDR, and MR are good on everyone too, but the SV passive works with a pretty limited champ pool, it's either amazing (Mundo, Voli, Singed) or essentially useless (Malphite, Naut, Amumu).
But then again, that's kind of nitpicking, I guess. It's still good stats for the combine cost (+5 MR, +5% CDR, passive) and works if you have a Raka or Lulu support as well. It was just nice having the "I need a fuckton of MR? Better get FoN" Item that worked for everyone.

Most AP damage is burst damage which means that HP is just as useful as MRes (which is why there's only one item that gives MR and HP, and thanks to spellshield it's had to be nerfed mutiple times). If you're like Olaf or something, just stacking HP works alright. A raw Negatron itself is also not bad. Could always just Negatron stack if you have the inventory slots. As an AD Carry Mercurial is still nice and having to get Clasp into Mercurial still works out alright (although suppression still a problem). Still, the most health you're getting out of any one MR item is 400 on Runic Bulwark or 300 on Banshee's. Bulwark is only really a buy for one person on the team (since you can't Aegis stack anymore), and I still feel Banshee's is pretty situational based on enemy team comp. But yeah, it's not out of the norm to get a Negatron item and then a Giant's Belt (or a GBelt item and a Negatron)/

The new Warmog's is so elegant. +1000 health, restores 1.5% of your health every 5 seconds. It's THE health item (like how rabadon's is THE AP item) and the unique passive actually synergizes with itself (like rabadon's, unlike FoN)

Aegis is getting an upgrade. 400HP, 20 Armor, 30 MR Aura: 10 armor, 30mr, 10hp/5sec

The big advantage of Shiv is that it builds out of Avarice Blade. It's innately cheaper than Phantom Dancer to begin with, but combined with the 4-8gp10 you get out of Avarice the effective cost goes way down unless you're in a huge rush. The proc also goes off constantly if you're fighting on the move (practically every other auto-attack), so it has a lot more going for it than it first seems. Bruisers aren't going to be inclined to rush Phantom Dancer anyway since they need defenses first, so Statikk Shiv is fairly well aligned with their needs.

graves could use the shiv effectively probably.

Hm, in that regard, is it really better than getting Atma's (which now builds out of Avarice and gives you defenses in the form of Armor) or straight up just selling it for a better item once mid/late game rolls around? Plus, innately cheaper by 300g, which yes is further mitigated by the gp10 and extra gold passive, but still not a huge difference.
Still, I guess we'll see once it's actually included. It could be a stupid worthwhile build on my GP, of course.

I kinda agree, but the real problem is like a bunch of people who firstpick top/mid pick a champ with really tough matchups. Its never like Ori, Morg, Olaf, Irelia firstpick, its always like Kat (not really terrible), Morde, or Teemo.
I generally prefer FP picking a solo lane (because allegedly they are the best player), so long as they aren't going to pick something that is a really hard matchup vs. some of the most popular picks.
