For example I play support most of the time, and when my lane is lost or losing for whatever reason (my own mistakes, jungler intervention, whatever), I don't really know how to stop the situation from spiralling out of control or how to make the best out of the situation. This is true for my ad as well, where if I lose lane and am down CS/items, I don't know how to put myself back into a decent position. If you're blue side you fall back from lane and farm golems til lane pushes in a position where you can farm safely, wait for the other team to overextend or do something stupid. If you're purple side you are fucked.

This is true for my ad as well, where if I lose lane and am down CS/items, I don't know how to put myself back into a decent position. It very much depends on what level you play at. From my experience up until ~1800 every single AD pushes, always, as hard as he can. Thus, it does not matter if you lose lane as long as you don't lose it hard enough for them to dive you, because you can always just farm under your turret. As long as you can farm under your turret, just stay back and do exactly that. Get a few pots, try to not eat too much harass, and just farm it out. Maybe ward tribush if you fear a dive incoming. Farm under turret, avoid fights where you are an equal amount of people as the enemy, and hope that a gank or dragon fight goes your way. Pretty often they get impatient and try to dive you nonetheless. If they get too greedy, this can be a good way to come back into the game. If you are mid, it depends on the matchup, but you can usually still easily farm, you just need to be absurdly careful when the enemy leaves lane, because if you meet them alone in the wilderness, you are toast. If you are toplane, you are fucked.

Just to echo this people don't realise that often you don't have to try make any "huge plays" to get back into the game. Merely be patient and try to capitalize on the opponents mistakes. People aren't professional players and will make those mistakes, if you just wait for them most of the time you can get back into it.
