It's also a really common 'enchantment' name in a lot of fantasy rpg's. It has something to do with swiftness or nimbleness or something along those lines.

Sona's E is called Song of Celerity.

Come to think of it it's also in Diablo 2.
Also I believe those rune names are going to be changed - instead of "Greater Mark of Insight", it will be "Greater Mark of Magic Penetration" in S3.

I bet those names for Sona's abilities were due to Shurelia.
But OK I see why Nami's passive may need to be renamed. I am still a little unhappy because now her kit has "tide" in too many of her abilities and it feels awkward.

Sorry for answering this late, I went to bed. There was a tiny period of a day or two when I was watching salce, that was when Ziggs came out and he spammed games with him. Got tired of the stream shortly thereafter and haven't tuned in since, except for 2 minutes the other day when all he did was complain his jungler doesn't gank top. I guess Scarra and Wings kind of spoiled me, but whenever I turn into streams like Salce's or Dyrus', I get bored super quickly because learning from them is much harder and they don't seem to interact with viewers at all. I don't see the point of watching their streams when I could be spectating them in the client in better quality with my own music. Especially after the 23rd apologetic video of Dyrus and some stuff salce said after leaving curse, I don't want to give them any money either, so there's that. Tl;DR both streams are bad in my opinion, I don't (can't stand to) watch them these days anymore. I think one needs to be cautious about learning from WoDx. I feel that sometimes he makes a bad play then try to justify his choices. Scarra usually just straight up admit he played bad. I went through 100% of his VoDs during the last couple of months and I agree, even though it has gotten better. But that's okay, I try to evaluate each and every situation on my own, and I think that's easier if you have a starting point, for example him trying to justify plays. It's easier to take what he said about a certain situation, compare it to what you would have done in and then theorycraft which approach seems better and if there's a completely different way to handle things.
Either way, for me, him talking about what he does makes his stuff on my own much easier. At least I know his thought proccess behind stuff and can question it. Learning from streams doesn't mean taking every word for granted, though I have gotten to know a couple of people who do (''Ignite/TP GP REAL TERROR, RAINMAN EXPLAINED IT ON STREAM'')

While we're still on this, I always thought "Catalyst the Protector" sounded extremely YuGiOh-like, naming one unrelated noun after the other in an awkward Engrishy way.

I like your discussion guys
Nami Changes
Celerity [Passive] has been renamed to Surging Tides
edit. they lowered her Ap scaling on the ultimate but increased the range to 2500? wtf i didnt play her yet because Im not signed up to PBE but thats like 4-5 average autoattack range, so her ult range is like from one midtower to enemy midtower?

Thats about luxultrange ?

I honestly think Nami is shaping up to be a really strong support. Her kit is very synergistic with most AD Carries (Slow on AA? I'll take that...) Along with very strong CC and a heal, it almost seems like she has everything. She even has a mini Janna passive.
I think she will probably be ban material, that Ult range is huge.
|
If you are standing directly inline with your own middle turret, the Ult will reach all the way to the linethat marks the ridges on either side of the midlane the overlook the river brush. It's pretty damn long. If you're standing on the bottom most 'step' on the ramp at your midlane base exit, it'll go all the way to the outer turret.

Derived from the Latin word Celeritas, meaning speed.
Those five years of latin in high school are still sometimes useful.

Hell yes, Diana on sale. Got Zyra initially then wanted to wait for another expensive champ I wanted like Diana <3
And yeah I think both those are a bit too strong atm but I mostly want them for the playstyle anw.

Zyra can make AWESOME use of the item that burns %HP when people's movement is impaired due to her E-Plants. She'll also be great with the new DFG which looks like it's been tailored for Diana. I recall Navi building pre-nerf DFG into GA on her, I reckon this route will even be more viable with the new DFG.
Still, they are awesome champions.

I'm actually really hopeful for Diana jungling in S3. I like Zyra/Diana a lot as champions but mid isn't really my favourite role. Zyra support has been a ton of fun (feels a bit cheap since her mana costs are practically non-existant on her E).

The Guise upgrade is more or less going to be suitable for those APs that have AoE DoT damage coupled with reliable slows. This actually doesn't really characterize Zyra at all. Note that it's likely that her plant's damage will probably count as AoE for the purpose of the Liandry's proc, since they count as AoE for the purpose of determining Rylai's slow % and spellvamp %.
The effect has half duration on DoTs and on AoEs, but the DoT refreshes the effect, and the duration isn't a huge deal with your DoT effect constantly refreshing the debuff.
It's obviously meant to have synergy with Rylai's but the champs that benefit most obviously from it without Rylai's are Anivia and Cassiopeia (note that while both champs have AoE DoT spells, they also have single-target nukes to apply/refresh the single-target version of the debuff as well).

So, what do you guys think the S3 itemization changes will do to double AP strategies (if anything at all)? I recently discovered the power of Vlad top + Galio mid + Twitch, and I am hoping that this still continues to be super powerful after the new items.

I think it's foolish to think of the game in terms of the archetypes we know currently. The general structure of the game will be the same, but the question of "will X strategy still work in S3" understates the magnitude of the changes.
Play with an open mind, re-evaluate the game from the ground up.

Holy shit, did anyone just watch that teamfight in aphromos stream. Sickest shit I've ever seen. Extremely long constant teamfight with the sickest kiting by aphromoo. Like 4 GA were popped, maplh ulti was dodged, other team was aced. Wow, that was cool.
