This is especially true in many areas of the game, typically true with tops where one gets slightly ahead and then zones the other and tremendously widens the gap, but is also true with assassins and hypercarries. A small lead shouldn't win you a lane or the game, but it should make the other team have to do something to even it out. Right now a small lead is a huge lead in too many scenarios. Definitely agree with this. I am not sure that lowering lane gold is the right way to prevent snowballing, but I still hope they look for ways to soften the way a small lead can get out of control. I personally think they should lower the amount of stats you receive upon leveling up for all champions across the board. Even a one level difference is pretty huge at early levels.

Obviously you need to go where you're needed and what not, but when I'm in a game and all lanes are pushed/all lanes are frozen in the middle, and no one is inherently more gankable than the others, should I just focus on one? Or should I put a lot of pressure everywhere? Depends on jungler, depends on lane matchups.

You can't really *stop* snowballing. The nature of this game is that item/XP advantage leads to greater fighting ability, which lets you create pressure to build greater item/XP advantage. Even if you reduce the advantage per creep, the effect still exists. That said, IMO the real issue is the lack of options by which players can do something about it. The real regrettable thing about snowballing in top lane is the sort of "helplessness" you have in a losing top lane. There are a couple things to this: - Champion power curves. The comparative closeness in terms of item/level development on top laners has its own effect on snowballing. While more differentiated champion power curves creates its own potential issues, having wider differences in champion strength at different levels does help the issue of snowballing. Having champion strength/weakness at different levels outweigh item/XP advantage means that players can use those level timings to come back from a disadvantage, rather than just getting snowballed because their item/XP disadvantage is more significant than their timing advantage at those levels. - The isolation of top lane. This works two ways: 1) it's comparatively infrequent to see top laners leave lane to gank, and 2) it becomes increasingly hard for mid/jungle to gank top as the game progresses unless the snowballing top laner allows his wards to lapse carelessly. In the former case, top laners tend to not have much to do in the case where they're losing lanes. While there are certain exceptions (like level 6 Malph being able to gank other lanes easily and reliably), top laners for the most part just return to top lane, which means that the losing top laner repeatedly returns to an environment where he cannot do much. Being able to set your other lanes ahead when you are behind means that while you may not be able to go back and win your lane, you may still have enough of an effect on the game to outweigh your lane opponent's advantage, curbing the "snowball" effect. Whether this is an issue of top laners not playing actively on the map, or a case of the game not encouraging them enough to do so remains to be seen, but it is something to consider. The converse point is that how relatively inexpensive wards are compared to how much they allow a top laner to leverage their advantage allows a top laner to isolate the lane that he is winning. The most obvious way to lose a snowballing advantage is to get ganked, but this becomes increasingly hard as the money used to maintain ward control is comparatively small compared to the growing advantage. While this is partially curbed by reducing the gold advantage of building an advantage in lane, note that Riot is introducing an item that has an even bigger influence in the other direction--the Sightstone. The Sightstone means that a laner can invest in a one-time cost item that more or less lets them maintain ward control for *no future cost*. They just pay the one-time cost for the Sightstone, and then never have to buy wards again to ward their lane.
