That's not to say they are truly interchangeable, just that most people looking for a tanky-support jungler with strong early ganks are currently favoring Maokai. I find his early ganks better, he can also deal much better with getting counterjungled (underleveled means Naut's shield gets destroyed more easily -> with the worst base AS in the game he can't clear at all), especially early. Maokai's burst is also higher, which helps a ton early, and during ganks. Naut's sustained damage is better if his shield doesn't get destroyed (activate it in teamfights only after the AoE fly out), and his ult is a pretty good counter-initiation tool, though for initiating the raw power of twisted advance and Maokai's general durability (add in his ult) gives the advanage to the tree in my book. Naut's better at peeling many people because of the AoE on his slow and his passive, while Maokai's shorter cooldowns (esp. on Naut's passive that doesn't benefit from cdr iirc) make him better when dealing with only one or two people. So I generally find Maokai better unless you can ensure a safe early clearing for Nautilus, and then use his ult to secure kills and his better peeling during short fights for counterganks.
This is pretty much an excellent summary of why mao is much more preffered than naut right now, arguably if naut gets a bit ahead he can probably do more damage than mao, but when you fall behind its really difficult because not only does your damage in ganks suffer when the shield breaks, but you actually have problems clearing camps sometimes if your shield breaks.
Imo, naut is currently one of the worst jungler to play catch up with, and i'd argue this is why he doesnt see that much competetive play. Most pros have said they prefer safe picks (from the interviews i have watched). Generally if you are looking for a gank based early jungler mao just seems to be much more safer.

Anyway, my point was that there's nothing contradictory between the statements "1200 is the average elo" and "70% of players are under 1200 elo" I'd be interested in seeing real data on lol players, some of the stats they provide are too ambiguous to derive any meaning from. 1200 is the top 25% for example. Top 25% of what? All players? Only ranked players? At least provide some more background information, If they are feeling extra generous sprinkle some pictures of the distribution on top It's got to be of all ranked players, I'd be surprised if 25% of all players even make it to ranked at all.
Also, I wish they used the 'bonus pool' mechanic for elo decay (elo that decays gets put into a bonus pool for you, which works like the SC2 bonus pool), so that I can say with certainty that the average-as-in-arithmetic-mean elo is 1200.

So I spammed a bunch of games to get to almost diamond now, but I'm getting random friend invites from lvl 7's and stuff. I'm assuming that's someone spectating, and they just want you to be their friend from spectating?

What kind of method do they use in picking who they want to friend? Do they just click it for everyone in the game? Whenever it happens to me it isn't when I'm wrecking face or carrying, it's whenever I'm getting shit on and manage to not fuck things up. Big plays? Not so much. Mediocre play? I like this guy.

Anyone can make big plays sometimes, but it takes a player who's a cut above the rest to stay calm and not rage and not blame his teammates when he's behind.

Froggen Lee Sin on lone star Clash atm! vs curse.na

I added two guys after spectating featured games, to compliment them on plays they made during it (guenine stuff that makes you wish you could talk to people without adding them). One of them was a support Alistar that wasn't into shiney stuff but played solidly with several clutch saves on teammates. Turns out he's a 2k Elo jungler, the role I wanted most to improve at the time. Still have him and I often spectate him when he's jungling.

I used to get random invites a lot when I was high enough to be on featured games. But now I'm bad.
It was seemingly random when it happened. I'd usually accept to see what they had to say, but if they were annoying at all (begging me to play with them, etc) I'd remove instantly.

Anyone what or who optikzero is? He's listed as a featured LoL streamer but have never heard of him. I really don't like that some random SC2 "progamers" are featured as LoL streamers without deserving it. Like destiny, who might be good at Sc2, no idea, but is one of the least enjoyable LoL streamers I know of, mediocre at playing and totally toxic in his behaviour towards his teammates. I wish they would limit these guys to being featured only at the games which they are actually featured for. And I wish tl.net had some good featured players who are really worth watching (mannered, skilled, helpful).

Edit: He also cannon rushed and did alot of void ray cheeses when he was playing.

Probably some SC2 player but didn't know he played SC2. I'm not sure how the featured streamer list works for SC2 as I'm just involved with the DotA/LoL stuff.
What do you propose then? Have them "unfeatured" when SC2 players play LoL? It seems rather odd considering that means we'd have to apply that for every featured streamer who does anything on stream that's not their main thing. (Say, Nony stream LoL, Idra on DotA, Liquipedia playing SC2, BW guys playing SC2, TotalBiscuit doing the TGS Podcast, etc.)

When I was streaming you could just flick what game you were streaming so I assume he isn't a featured LoL streamer, he just used to be a featured SC2 streamer and now when he streams on that account it's still featured but he has changed the game to LoL. I assume there just isn't enough staff to police the stream list constantly.
Just in terms of how to deal with it. There's the Players tab and other. Is it not possible to maybe break it down more to Players:SC2/LoL/Dota2. So if a SC2 player is streaming LoL he still falls under sc2 and thus LoL people know it's not some new LoL featured guy.

While watching Tales of the Lane I noticed that a lot of the AD carries are using one glyph that isn't flat mres. What is it? Crit chance?

yeah but the reason aphrmo is doing it is because some tl'er told him his crit chance in game from a 0.63% crit rune rounds up to 1% LOL
