Isn't nerfing flash just going to make Ezreal-tier ADs outclass even more?

Sometimes you have to break things to fix them.

Note that we're lacking in specifics here. We don't know how much the cooldown of these spells is increasing. The last time they talked about increasing the cooldown of Flash, they notched it up a full 10 seconds.

I'm kind of worried about the item overhaul. I'm sure it'll be wonky at first and get balanced out but I am a little concerned that some of the items that are rarely built will just get removed. Frankly, Tiamat for example may be awful but sometimes it is a hilarious item to build and I'd hate for Riot to just take it out of the game.

Adding that proving ground shield into SR is weird. If it's a direct port over I think Barrier will be taken by a lot of champions because the CD is super low and the shield completely negates Ignite while also having a lower CD.

Depending on how much the CD gets increased on Flash I think that a lot of top laners, especially ones who have a dash, are gonna start running Ghost. Lots of top laners have been moving more towards Ghost already and a lot of junglers with gap closers are running Exhaust/Smite instead of Flash.

This really comes as more of a nerf to AD carries than anyone else imo. Hurts AP mids and some supports too I guess.

But yeah if they direct port barrier or some of those AD caster twisted treeline items preseason is gonna be an incredibly funny mess.

The thing about champs with built-in dashes is that there really isn't any diminished return from having flash as a summoner spell. Having two flashes is about twice as good as having just one. How often do you play ez do you think "man, this flash summoner spell is so useless, every time I needed to blink I had my E up"?

Honestly I think Tiamat could be easily fixable to be a useful niche item, with some alterations to the cleave. The item is cost-effective for stats, it's just that the cleave is designed in such a way that it's downright worthless.

A circular cleave around the target is downright useless when the item specifically is more slated toward melee users because a lot of the cleave AoE will just be on/around the champion model. Even if it had the exact same AoE, a cone shaped cleave that splashes forward from the attack target would be a LOT more usable than the current circular shape.

The second is that the AoE just needs to be bigger. You can trade off for a smaller cleave %, but the AoE right now is too small. This isn't even necessarily for its combat effectiveness--part of the ostensible usefulness of an AoE splash item is going to be as a farming/pushing item, and if you can't get the splash to hit multiple creeps if they shift around a bit, you're going to have a rough time using it.

I don't like increasing the cooldown on flash. Honestly, I don't like how long of a CD summoner spells have at the moment. They really just create this weird period of time where players are relatively superstrong/weak compared to the opposing players. Maybe some of you really good players have good internal clocks for things like Flash timers, or even Karthus Ult timers, but I doubt most of us do. Flash is just really good because you can go over walls with it and occasionally escape certain death moves.

Based off of my limited knowledge of Dota/LoL, I'm guessing Tiamat is supposed to be the battlefury equivalent of LoL. What i'm wondering is why Battlefury is built so often on carries in dota and almost never built at all in LoL? What is the difference.

Does anyone know what runes (and possibly masteries) the Korean AP players go on AP mid kata? They build her similar to rumble with haunting guise, abyssal and going straight for GA after that. I've had a lot of success with kata using that item build, but I'm unsure if I'm using the correct runeset to accompany the itembuild.

I've got the same question with Diana and which runes Koreans go for her. I've seen some AP Mid's go the same itembuild as the katarina build i mentioned before but most common is 1/2 dorans ring into abyssal, zhonya's and then GA.

1) Battle Fury splash is a LOT wider. As in, if you hit melee creeps with Battle Fury, the splash goes far enough to hit ranged creeps. This makes it both a more useful combat item and a more useful farming item.

2) The number of carries with a need for an AoE farming item is much greater. Comparatively in LoL, the majority of heroes have AoE farming skills to clear creep waves that they don't need to get an item to do it.

It depends on the matchup, but your goal is to survive lane 1-5, that's it. I've seen 9/21 many times. You need mpen reds and the 10% mpen talent in offense, but everything else can be used for helping you survive in lane.

The problem with Tiamat is that it offers no synergistic stats, other than damage + cleave. But the cleave area is such shit, that there's no synergy. (in case you don't know what i mean by synergy, look at items like BT, where lifesteal + damage is a great synergy item, more damage also means more life taken. Attack speed + crit chance (PD), more rolls (attacks), leads to more crits overall, or AS + onhit effect (more on hit due to more attack speed). Tiamat offers flat cost efficient stats, but none of these are synergistic, thus meaning the summation of stats are non-cost efficient stats. Changing splash on tiamat is only part of the problem, Riot needs to add stats that increases its synergy with a splash change.

If there's one silver lining on tiamat being weak all this time it's that riot never felt the need to make its passive a unique passive (like sunfire cape)

tiamat stacking is still hilarious
