I know this is a crappy strategy seeing how I saw this used once but I want to hear why it is bad as much as I want this to succeed.

Can anyone in here that plays DotA explain why DotA players put 1 mid instead of 2? the same roaming logic applies to both games (put your map control in the middle) but neither game does it and I'm curious why.

Switching the duolane to make it a 1v2 is way better on a sidelane, because you can properly zone the solo, and you also have at least some kill potential. Mid is so short, makes farming under tower easy for the solo, while one of your sololaners gets destroyed in 1v2 sidelane. It has strenghts, but imo it's better to laneswap top/bot instead of duo mid, if you really want to swap.

A year or two from now it will be a totally accepted game, its just a matter of time. It just sucks that so many gaming enthusiasts in the western world are just going along with popular sentiment and completely avoiding a fantastic game, which will really hurt our chances of getting successful non-korean teams established before we get left even more in the dust than we already are. I remember not so long ago when the first EU and NA teams were visiting Korea, and we had a sort of naive enthusiasm that the west was really good at Leagues within a part of the community, with all sorts of posts about how the team nature and unorthodox strategies or whatever would allow us not to get our asses kicked like we did in BW. Obviously that was a load of shit even then and you just gotta practice like you give a fuck. Its too bad that talent that could potentially start a sustaining team situation conducive to such training is avoiding the game. The more behind we fall the harder it is to catch up later. Whatever, as long as people don't mind watching Koreans we will still get to see all sorts of top tier stuff. Hopefully DOTA2 will pick up some of these kids and have a more egalitarian international scene which makes watching so much more fun.

The mage would just be fucked up by the jungler in a longer lane since ap characters don't tend to have reliable escape mechanisms.

I guess a true BW elitist sees some sort of karmic retribution in this. I think it's sad because I like both games and I see no reason for this fight. SC2 isn't declining because of lol. I think lol is just filling a void that SC2 left, because people like to watch other people play computer games and not just as a competition, but got bored with SC2. Look for example at all the Minecraft/Let's play stuff. This. I'm one of these BW elitists. I was really bitter about SC2 success in the early stages. First I was excited for the game as many others but I found out really fast that it's inferior to BW so I stayed and only watched SC2 for some of the first matches of Boxer and Nada. So many people knew from the very beginning that SC2 is a worse game than BW. It's worse for spectating and not more fun at playing. Still everyone in the foreign scene jumped on the ship because they are worshipping this god that "Esports" seems to be for a lot of PC gamers. Now that SC2 is on the decline I have this bitter-sweet feeling of revenge(!). Am I a bad person because of that? Or do I only feel good that I was right, that jumping onto SC2 so fast was digging its own grave for RTS as an "Esport"? I almost quit BW completely because improving takes to much time, effort and dedication and there's no real professional scene to follow anymore. Now I'm into League and yeah I'm definetly feeling good about SC2 being on the decline. I am a bad person :-( But for all the SC2 fans: BW was supposed to die since 2003 and lived on till 2012. So you still have some time. It doesn't look like there's a great RTS in sight that can take SC2's throne. (Everyone switching back to BW is more likely than a random RTS becoming the new big thing in esports.)

But re-addressing the AD/Support mid, would you agree that if this strategy is to work out, we also have to completely reconsider which champions to pick? For example, for jungle, make sure you have one that can constantly gank, a mage or bruiser with a blink, and a support who can roam like a Janna, Ali, Taric, or Leona?

Sad mummy just became really sad, and quit the game while heas 6 while i was 9, lol. ![]() After laning phase is over idk what to do as Nunu jungle. As Nunu support I do the support thing and bodyguard the ad carry and bring the auras. As Nunu top I slap people right and left. As Nunu jungle? You don't get enough gold/exp to destroy people but you need to stay relevant because you're the jungler, not the support, and the enemy jungler is probably contributing to his team with something. You can build off-tank and try to disrupt the enemy team and peel for the ad carry but you just don't excel at any of these roles. I mean jungling Nunu is awesome, always clear camps, fuck up the enemy jungle, ganks aren't bad, but after that... =? Even if you manage to zone the enemy jungler out of the game, he'll eventually be back and will bring something to his team that you probably can't. Unless I'm so blind that I haven't found the key to Nunu! Just my point of view ^^"

It's mainly helped that this LoL subforum feels incredibly similar to the old Brood War forum. The SC2 section feels like bunch of monkeys all screaming as loud as they can in one never-ending mind rendering racket. LoL subforum too stronk. Our GP10 discussions are what BW 'When is it best to FE BISU BUILD PvZ?' discussions. I'm sure plenty of TL BW vets feel the same way.

Typically, mid is the best lane in which to place your tempo-carrying hero that has the expectation of ganking the sidelanes, since it has the best general access across the map. Mid is typically a solo because generally heroes are level-dependent to gain certain ganking abilities (max rank nukes, ultimates, etc.). Duo mid allows support sidelane ganks, but as the sidelanes gain levels, the effectiveness of an underleveled roaming support ganking them diminishes, and certainly does not have the same effectiveness as a solo-lane leveled ganker. People forget this expectation in LoL because we're sort of in a stage where people are playing passive farming mids rather than more gank-oriented ones, and expecting the jungler to carry the tempo.
