Yea you have items like force staff, mek,pipe,ghost scepter. All which allow you to "counter-attack" a bkbing guy in your face by just either displacement/physical invincibility or healing/magical damage shield. This tends to make fights drag on a lot unless there's some real hard initiation that can aoe cc guys.

well if a LoL item gave AD, mana regen, and hp regen, all long term based stats, combined with a burst cooldown reset we'd be laughing pretty hard too

They need to fix Atma's and Ghostblade, just remove crit chance, and replace with a more worthy stat, or make the item cheaper.

Further itemization of bildgewater cutlass would be cool (other than just gunblade). One of my favorite items in the game.

TBH I think it would be much more interesting to have a hero that has Tinker's Rearm as his ultimate. Sure, there's Zilean, but meh. Not the same fun.

Crit on bruisery items is designed for melee carries, though, they simply don't exist in LoL.

I don't think anyone realistically expects them to scrap the whole item system; an overhaul more likely will encompass tweaking of tier 1/2 items and then building new items/paths for higher tiers. I think Xyph specifically said he wanted to see more actives, so the best approach would be to identify what conditions aren't game breaking (like the ult reset discussion above.) Is a silence activate OP? What range / CD could make it fair? Etc.

On itemization, would anyone want to see multiple build paths for higher tier items? Would it make itemizing too confusing (especially from UI concerns)? Like what if a Deathcap could be built from a Guise or something instead of NLR, but ultimately had a larger combine and total cost to pay for the earlier upgrade, but still cheaper than if someone sold off their Guise, etc.

I dunno if that makes itemization more or less interesting.

I think we discussed this before quite a bit and the general feeling was build "paths" isn't something that helps the itemization but hurts. Having items like Dorans Stuff/Guise which don't build into anything else but are extremely strong at certain points of the game.

This gives you more options as a character and team to what you want to focus on: Building small components for late game items while being weaker in the current space of time or building "dead end" items that are stronger now but weaker later.

That'd make his lategame so absurd it's actually ridiculous thinking about it. Even if all BKB did in LoL was CC immune(except suppress, likely because of the %damage relatively speaking of magic/spell based and physical based damage), lategame nasus would be soooo scary. lategame he almost always kills the AD in 2-3 hits, but now he can actually get to them.

True or false, either of these ideas would be more entertaining than another-generic-online tourney that always have the same NA teams:


enemy drafts. Go through normal pick/ban phase, but the enemy team has to play with the team you drafted. Close lobby before game start, then set back up as a normal and the teams have to use the roster that the other team picked. Rarely used champs get featured, awkward laning roles, shit talking opportunities by actually giving the enemy decent champs.

Idea 2: this could also easily be done at an IPL or a MLG arena where the teams aren't doing ton of sets. Battle of the lanes. If you have at least 5 teams, then do a side tourney where each team is comprised of the guys who main each role. Team jungler, team mid, etc.

Yes, you can do it with teleport and other spells like that too, but you have to have insane timing to do it.

This would be awesome to see in tournament downtime or for a silly weekend showmatch. I used to do this with 12 man pugs in team fortress - but not only do you pick their classes but you also chose which players had to play which class/role

Come on guys this is riot we're talking about. They wouldn't allow a refreshing and scaling true damage nuke to happen, so they'd never be silly enough to add an item that would give champs that can instakill you any cc/damage immunity or CD refreshers. Riiiight?

None of which have armor pen? I was thinking something more along the lines of more synergy, something with a bit of AD, armorpen, with some armor or health. Just a little bit of those stats. It'd be blatantly op'd as fuck when first bought, but loses its relative strength later on in the game.
