#1offtopic GD thread I treat this as my "General Discussion with TL LoL Community" more than just "LoL GD" Yeah i've always looked at it the same way, and really why not? It's fun most of the time :D There are other GD threads where that doesn't fly. Neo is a benevolent and loving Hammer. And pleading to his better nature/direct flattery doesn't hurt either. Not gunna lie, Neo #1 mod imo. Much more understanding than most mods. Was anyone ever banned from the LoL forums?I have been following it for I wanna say over a year now and I don't think I ever saw someone get banned. Jazriel

There was someone who posted a keylogger who Neo banned. Two people who randomly came in from SC2 and started trashing LoL out of no where also got banned. Uh, I think there were a couple who were banned for begging for free skins. But other than that, not by Neo though. There were a few bans by other Mods/Admins such as when gtsrs went on a rant once. Caller got banned for that "Corea Tier List" thread. And Unichan got banned by Mani because he misunderstood her post. Those were temp bans though.

I love this GD so much haha. Pokemon ideas were fun to think about.
Haven't played DnD or something like it in a really long time. Never had anyone willing to put in the time to DM. Anyone tried Alternity? I can't say whether it was good or not since I was so young but a lot of fun memories.
Also, I'm suddenly debating whether or not to first-day buy Rengar. Would be my first 6300 champ purchase...

Let's face it unichan was terrible poster anyway.

tobiwan shitting on the lol community on real talk.

If I wasn't going to be buying Rengar already, the login screen music would seal the deal. The music people at Riot have been doing an amazing job with the last few.

tbh, I don't really care that you guys talk about pokemon or D&D here. Most of you are regulars and GD is just a place to hang out, say hi, and spam. A page or two of off-topic talk doesn't bother me.
Things are fairly laissez-faire in our subforum. It takes a lot to get warned around here, much less banned.
Edit: but make an appropriate thread if you guys are seriously considering that tabletop stuff (real D&D noob here). glhf

I'd probably see what champions people wanted to play and then try to build a story that fit all of them. LoL has some fun lore and character interactions, I think it'd be cool to try and play around with them.
Then again, I know some people who just prefer combat-oriented sessions over RP, and it might be cool to see a match with Jayce and Viktor or Jarvan and Swain summoned on the same team. Realistically I think the LoL could be suited to a lot of stuff, not necessarily combat related. Certainly, there's a lot of unexplored territory in the rest of the world and not just SR. And one thing I learned long ago when brewing settings based on something like this: it's generally smoother when players play fresh characters in the setting rather than known, named characters. Letting people play named characters can be...problematic, depending on the player. I agree with this, mostly. I think the lore and the world are pretty open to so many different things that making a campaign set in Valoran is laughably easy. Anything from combat settings to RP based mystery, to straight up adventure.
I also see the issues with letting people play established characters. However, it can be entertaining as hell. For example, we have a campaign coming up (based on a one shot that my buddy ran) where all the players are mental patients who were let out during the Zombie Apocalypse, and we all think we're different fictional characters. Vash and Kenpachi Zaraki in the same party is interesting, let me tell you what.
As far as it relates to LoL, though, I don't think the characters are set in stone enough to be too problematic. They all basically have basic personalities and backgrounds that people can interpret and role play differently. For example, Darius gives off his own feeling of "power is everything", but what would he act like if he were forced in a month-long adventure with other people? My interpretation would be that he would come to respect some teammates regardless of their country, if they proved their might, while if Soraka was in the party, he would constantly look down on her and laugh at her non-involvement abilities. However, there's enough wiggle room in his personality that people can take it in slightly different directions.
That said, it would also be interesting to see a group of hopeful champions going on a "quest" to prove themselves to the League, and seeing how each one grows and then judging them afterwards.
Fuck, so many ideas. Must start writing. Why work so busy??

I mean I think its the biggest scene right now for a reason, people could be playing dota or HoN but riot knows what they're doing and they care about their pro scene probably more than blizzard does. :X Sure money dumping into organizations isn't the best thing to do but with how much revenue they're making off their f2p model it seems like they can afford to do it or they wouldn't be doing it.
