She isn't as fun to play as she looks. She feels... I dunno clunky? It doesn't feel smooth to me. Really?I didn't play her myself but she looked like she can chain together spells pretty fluidly.I was thinking the whole time, man I wish ziggs cast animations were so fast. Idk I tried to WWQ and stuff but it doesnt feel very nice. Maybe my opinion will change as I play her more. Also 2 second delay on her ult knock up is redonk. I'd rather have a smaller AoE and 1 second delay. Also I think her ult animation looks like crap but perhaps thats just me. Does not make me think of plants attacking. Looks more like a crappy bush someone flattened and the snap effect looks lackluster. They could have done so much better visually

I was mostly in shock because I thought I had a decent amount of health to survive at least another round of spells, and I had flash ready just in case. My hp pot was also regening my health. Then, she used her ult... for a second I was just like "what?" Her animation was so lackluster I honestly was not prepared for the attack, nor for the surprising burst damage it had. Then I was even more surprised when I later got hit by her Q, and found that that did a good amount of damage too. Zyra really strikes me as someone who has the plants as the icing on the cake, instead of her plants being the main part. Her teamfight is pretty good, with a nice snare and an ultimate that can wreck hard. Still, I don't think I find her overpowered. She doesn't have an escape and her spells can be avoided fairly easily. I think she's probably the better utility mage compared to say, Lux. Zyra offers close to the amount of utility Lux gives, but she brings a lot more damage imo. I think they need to make it more obvious that her ult is doing a huge amount of damage right away. Idk, it feels slightly awkward using it because the animation is very long leading up to the knock up, but the damage is all front loaded.
It's sort of like, not expecting viktor's lazer to chunk 1/3rd of your health.

Except you can still see and hear the laser coming. I understand what you're saying, and I'm not saying I dislike Zyra ult, it just feels odd. I also haven't played against one yet, so I can't talk about from that side of the coin.

Actually you can rarely see it they really need to fix it

Zyra's ulti needs some animation tweaks. The damage it deals and the animation seems a bit off. It's not very obvious or clear imo. I feel like while she doesn't do that much damage outside of lane, especially since her plants tend to die pretty fast, she provides some insane peeling. But Anivia kinda does the same role she does 'cept better.

I'm maxing Q. E CD doesn't reduce with levels.
I've found her to be squishy as all hell, so if they really want to dive me, I will likely die if I make a mistake. I've only been able to play a few games with her though, so I could be wrong.
Edit: Nvm, I misread.
Why max Q before W?
I find having more seeds available a lot more useful during laning than relying on Q/E damage entirely, but I'm also sloppy with seed placement, so that might be the issue.

From the LoL GD forum, Zyra's hidden passives:
Yorick- The summoned ghouls will attack Zyra's plants
Maokai- Gets +1 movement speed if playing with a Zyra
Leona- Leona's passive does slightly more damage when triggered by Zyra

Er, what? Who says E CD doesn't reduce with levels? From the league wiki (I don't have the client around): Cooldown Reduction: 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 % Seed Recharge Time: 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 seconds
That's W O_o

On a sidenote, today I casted anivia Q and it didn't show either (hit animation & stun did go off)

Leona- Leona's passive does slightly more damage when triggered by Zyra Ghouls attacking the plants instead of Zyra is somewhat significant imo. Ofc, Zyra will probably still lose the lane 'cause she'll get out-sustained.

Just looking at her ult alone makes me think OP. More damage than Amumu ult (also instant huge AoE like Amumu), but not centered on Zyra. Good CC potential, especially in teamfights, and a buff to her plants. It's just mad.

So should I pick up Zyra and abuse the OPness, or wait and see how bad she gets nerfed? I'm tempted to get in on the ground floor here. YOLO? lol
Item question: What's the deal with Haunting Guise? After drings I can't justify spending gold/slots/time on anything that isn't big ticket, despite it having decent stats for the price. I get the impression that it's good on champs that peak in the early-mid game, but I dunno. Clue me in plz.

But if your champ has some built in flat Reduction/Penetration it can still be worth it together with Sorcs and Abyssal. If you can skip DRings for some reason Guise is a pretty strong midgame survivability/damage hybrid item.

Just played against a zyra, who the hell came up with that ult damage lol

In terms of gold value, guise is super efficient. It's just that you would need to get it early game most of the time, and few champs can afford to give up the mregen of drings
I get it on vlad and rumble sometimes, thats about it.

So what I don't understand - why exactly is riot giving an AP mid 20% CDR passively? Are they THAT determined to make the itemization for CDR completely worthless? Why do this instead of having different base CD numbers?

So we're gonna have third champion whose name starts with "D" in a short amount of time. Certainly some kind of conspiracy!

Yeah, and now that the brokenness isn't smothering everyone else in the game you can see just how badly made he was in the first place. The only reason he was playable in the first place was because he was stupidly powerful. It's like fighting the character trying to get things done with him because his mechanics fit together so poorly.
On July 26 2012 18:30 JackDino wrote: You move faster and move while spinning, why aren't you spinning ahead of them?
If they have flash silence will wear off before your spin so if you're relying on it to put them in ult range it won't necessarily happen. Furthermore, it's not always a matter of them running away... if they're fighting you, there's often not enough time to wait for the tic that puts them low enough for your ult, then cancel, then get R off. I think they removed the ability to ult while spinning as a power level thing, which is kind of dumb because it wasn't the broken part of his set and it made him less enjoyable.
It's not even so much a power level problem with this guy, although he does kinda suck. He doesn't seem unplayable though. It's more that his abilities never seem to have gotten a pass over to make them work in a fun way.
