i think its too early to make any presumptions about jayce.
i have played him top lane twice and jungle once, and some bot games to learn the basics. top is my least played lane and i really liked jayce up there, he felt quite strong. i could see him being my new main top champ. the mix of ranged and melee is nice because you can focus on one or the other depending on what lane matchup you find yourself in, and even switching during the lane phase depending on what you need at every moment. he is very versatile is my point. none of these games have gone to the teamfight phase so i cant comment on how jayce does there.
the jungle game i played i failed miserably, but i think with defensive masteries and different runes (i went ad reds and quints, next time i will go atk spd reds and movespd quints) he can be ok there. i think his ganks could be quite strong if executed correctly. at this point i find it hard to make any definitive statements about jayce because he is so new. give it some time to play itself out.

accel gate pretty annoying though. its okay if its on my team, because my support lulu + jayce = surrender at 20 for other team.

I liked playing him as jungle (used as reds, armor yellow, mr/lvl blue, ms quints). He seems fast and has a mix of udyr/lee/ali ganks.

I have not played him, but from my observation, he appears to be rather strong, but not necessarily TOO strong top, ok but weird bot, and not really good in the jungle.
From a jungler perspective, he has insane gank assists. When i gank a lane with a jayce, and the enemy is not completely scared for some reason, or at his tower, he is basically dead. Jump + slow + knockback + ranged to finish him off is really good at getting kills in a gank.

Idk just played against one, i thin his jungles way too slow. Counter Jangled him all day was playing Udyr though so that may have been why.

So does it bother anyone else that Jayce's first attack when he switches to hammer takes approximately 30 seconds to come out? I find myself autoing creeps on purpose so I can actually last hit after the first shot.
Other than that, he seems really fun. I played him bot lane with Orianna support and I loved the fact that Acceleration Gate + Orianna's move speed buff meant we were pretty much ungankable.
I don't think Jace (the y in his name really annoys me because the Mind Sculptor doesn't have it) will be a good as a bruiser but not a ranged AD. He doesn't do as much damage from range and you frequently want to be a badass and knock people back with your hammer.

I don't think Jayce is even remotely a good jungler. But laning with him was so retardedly strong. In one of the games, I faced a Olaf as Jayce and I sucked (I rarely play top lane); basically I fed him 4 kills before lvl 10. Even so, because I was ranged, I could still keep up my CS and won the lane back at around lvl 13 by killing him twice.

His Q + E combo = tons of damage (tm) from insanely long range.

I just wanna chime in and say I have no idea how viable Jayce actually is cuz I've been playing him on my lvl 25 smurf, but he's fun as all hell.
Sniping people with EQ combo is always hilarious.

Played him only on dominion to get a feel for his abilities without first-5-min screwups screwing me over for the whole game. Still you get the feel for how his mechanics work vs other champions. I'm starting to feel he has only slightly less mobility than nidalee while being good at the poke (ap nidalee) and the scrappy trading/fighting (AD nidalee) at the same time. Does feel a little lacking in teamfights but at least you have one decent CC move (which also chunks people hard and makes me think that getting Olaf-style CDR items might be good) instead of 0. No sustain will make for a really rough top lane though.
BT seems really good, though. Going to try that instead of triforce - triforce felt a little lacking.

So has anyone else been having the most terrible time with Twitchtv lately? Streams almost always laggy or skipping constantly for me. No problems on Own3d just twitch that's making me very much annoyed that many teams switched over to them.

i find talon and swain are good against karthus. on talon just combo him at 5 (farm at your turret if possible til then), then combo him at 6 with ult and ignite. swain you can trade with him from lvl 1.
it is still really obnoxious when you shut karthus down and he still gets kills and assists from his ult that let him back in the game.

For some reason I can't stream Twitch on Chrome anymore, but it runs fine on IE. So strange.
